That’s under a huge maple tree. They’re digging where the cicada have made their exit holes in preparation for the big event

This might be a way to get it out of your attic without having to trap or kill it (and in my state, if you are going to release it, you aren't allowed to transport wildlife over natural bodies of water so you still have to find a place that won't inconvenience others but in the wild somewhere, not always easy). So, go to a party store (or Amazon) and buy 2 strobe lights and 2 timers. Place them at opposite ends of the attic and set the timers to go off at opposite intervals. The strobe should disturb them enough to look elsewhere for a nest. If you have a bigger attic you may need more strobe lights and timers. I have never tried it, but heard it suggested on a radio program and never forgot it. Good luck.

It’s already been removed. I just waited until it left and sealed its access

my dad was a fucking racoon hitman before we had dogs and theyd tear up our trash. he would trap them then submerge the trap in a rubbermaid tote full of water and throw cinderblocks on toptill they drowned to death. then he'd bag them and bring them to a predetermined dumping location. he asked me about shooting them with my .22 but we live in the suburbs with neighbors right on top of us, that woulda def led to some kinda reckless firearms charge so i wouldnt let him do that. dude was cold as fuck about it tho.

It wasn't an a racoon - it was a "remote controlled surveillance stuffed futuristic robotic racoon"
The next time you see some critters- just know the government is even putting cameras on bugs and sending them into places- so it's not farfetched to think this was not a real racoon at all.
And now koods has SEALED OFF The lair of the intelligence agencies test robot racoon.
I'd be all like right about now if I were him.

And yes- most certainly it has "bugged" his attic with remote access points for intelligence drones - they are using the robot racoons to break into a series of houses to increase the distance of the signal of the top secret drone program by placing waypoints in unsuspecting homeowners attics.

I've got a pellet rifle that's rated for raccoon. 1/5 the power of an average 22lr.

Anyone who's ever been attacked by- or surprised a cornered racoon knows they aren't cute.
They are like the mini version of the honey badger in that they can put up a really good- dang nasty fight/self defense.

I've had both happen to me, and still think they're pretty cute...but I grew up in Texas. We're pretty TUFF down here..
It's like a cute girl who starts sobbing, and/or screaming. She may not be AS cute as usual, but she's still kinda sweet looking.

Yeah- I can see that. I really dislike people who just go out and kill animals like racoons for fun- and especially possums .
I have only seen people get attacked on video - and those things go WILD. But I've surprised a few while dumpster diving myself and got the heck scared out of me for sure!

When I found the raccoon in the attic it came up to me and wanted me to pet it. Same thing happened with a baby fox last year
About an hour ago I walked outside and there was a deer eating out of the bird feeder. I just sat down and watched it six feet away and it gave no fucks
I’ve narrowed down the hole digger to: raccoon, fox, opossum, coyote or ground hog

They likely have holes in thier brain from some type of coon parasite. Brain worms that leave ice cream scoop size lesions in the brains of mammals. Your attic is likely a hot bed of infected coon feces. Talk about a hole digger.
