I haven't noticed any shitty pics Evly, quite the opposite . Those crinkly gills seem to be pretty common with Georgia ovoids but not with other locations.

Yup, only most of the grass is waist high or taller. You also have to look out for rangers, so one eye on the ground and one on the horizon. Burrowing through the grass while following an azzie vein is a lot of fun too!

Nice work dude.... Leave some for the rest of us!
Scouted some new territory today - no luck. Swung by my honey hole and got my first of the season.
Not a huge haul, but one cool little cluster.

Whaaat you ran into Ghosty? That’s badass. Two amazing shroom hunters must have had the same feeling about an area to run into each other. So dope!

Think the ticks must hang around the tops of some the longer shoots. This is the third time i've found one on my neck walking through here. Also found a pile of some animal's guts with no other noticeable remains
thx for the habitat shots, they're extremely helpful. im not having much luck with mulch beds around marietta/cobb gonna try lookin around the hooch tomorrow, i did find some cool ass cup fungi which totally look like theyre smoking if u blow into them (no i dont go around blowing on shrooms i just noticed it after i smelled it) and yeah ticks be hangin out at the tip top of those shoots if theyre not lurking in a tree waiting to drop on to ur head

Morel and ovoids fruiting next to each other

Spider void to the right

Noticing that ovoids in this area are much daintier than the ones that grow from mulch. Also they don't cluster much at all

I spent hours looking for ovoids in a floodplain today off of Chestatee river. I might as well call it a swamp since all the rains. I didn’t find anything accept tortoises and oyster mushroom pins.
Completely ruined a pair of vans with the mud. Shit was ankle deep and I was in it for 4 hours.

Right here with you bro. 6 hours along the Etowa river in flood plains yesterday with no luck. Muddy ass shoes. Finding new spots is quite difficult. Happy its been raining well at least ...

Great finds once again, Ev. and damn Nitro, that caerulescens patch is probably gonna go crazy again this year given the rainfall.
I checked the high grass area around some box elders briefly yesterday before soccer games started to show up, found some faded mushrooms that were too gone to ID. need to go back. Also came across a ton of huge water snakes, a few scared the shit out of me
Checked a different park in N. fulton this afternoon and found my first morel ever! Psyched for that at least

Looks like I can finally say that I found a few ovoids today! Members on this site are extremely informative and helpful. Much thanks! I'm to the conclusion that agrocybes are to ovoids as lacs are to weilii. Got fooled a couple times!

Is it just me or are more people having Ovoid luck with rivers close around Atlanta? I’ve been searching box elder river territory for the past three days here in Cherokee without any finds

In my opinion it just depends on habitat and if the mycelium is present there, and timing as well. The older/more experienced hunters might say otherwise. It seems like Evly has been finding them both ITP and OTP
I can pull up Doc's hunting tips from the GA thread last year if you'd like. I have them screenshotted on my phone too. His tips really helped me a ton and I found my first Ps. caerulescens last year by following his advice to a T.
