Yeah thats the AA+ in them lol, takes awhile for it to happen but it will still happen even if you put them to foil now
I hope so man they’ve been on foil almost 12 hours and the couple I picked up hadn’t dropped anything yet. A few had rust on the veils so I know they’re there in at least some caps.
And damn can’t beat 25 cent reusable glass dishes. Might be time for a PBJ binge.
These Argentina on the other hand drop heavy and super purple.

Do you guys normally get this mixed myc with pesa? This is only the third time I’ve run them but all of them colonized like this.

I've been streaking from an old rustywhyte print and running shoe boxes but everything was reverts until this one. Beautiful coloration and thick rustiness. Spotted a nice cluster for clone.

These guys finishing up wider than they are tall.

How does everyone cool down their grain jars? I just stuck 10 quarts into my SAB straight from the PC. Any issues with this? I usually just let them sit on my table until they're cool then put them into the SAB and get to work once they're cool.
I put them in the SAB this time hoping it would keep them a little cleaner but I'm not sure if it will make a difference
Anyway, not to derail the thread: here's one of my PE 16q minis. Looks like it's gonna be blobs..

Your lower holes are drying out the coir right below them, you need another layer of tape on them. Did you case/added a top layer at spawn? Because that's all you really need with APE, it doesn't look like you did that. Don't know about the size though, bacterial spawn can produce tiny fruits and more so in conjunction with a wet substrate, but genetics can also play a role.

@bigfootscreepyuncl, if the lids and filters are working, you could leave sterilized jars in a dirty moldy ass basement for some days and then inoculate without experiencing any issues (hypothetical case but true nonetheless). Just make sure you sanitize them well before inoculating and you're good to go.

I think I was hoping to not needing to wipe them down before working with them but that's stupid and I wouldn't skip that step anyway...not sure why I put them in the SAB lol. I just took them out thinking they would cool down a little faster in open air. I'm really hoping to get these knocked up tonight but I don't think I'll have time.
I'm splitting the 10 jars into 2 APE, 4 ESS and 4 Golden Halo

Ya I am still dialing in the fae in the new place. Been tricky. At first I didn't think enough, so I've been running a fan in the room and fanning tubs often.
I do a top layer of coir at the time of spawning. And then I added a late very thin casing layer.
everyone keeps telling me no need to case ape but I keep getting blob city and strange mutations uncased. I think ill try a few more uncased cuz i used to leave them uncased with great success this is a ms Tub, still searching for a winning culture .

200+ new posts holy hell I have some skimming to do
been busy (depressed lol) but here's a little PE update, should be getting back into the swing of things
A-MS 1A1 // B-MS 1A1 // B-MS 2A1

took a couple clones of A-1A1, liking the look of the sporeless gills. Snagged one from B 2A1 as well.
Missed you all

Weekly update.
No more actives going in the tent for now. Still focusing on the Blue oysters and Lion's Mane. I updated my FAE fans' switch assignments and bought a new power switch for the main fan. Now I have it run for 5 minutes and off for 10 minutes; repeat. So now I'm getting 4 FAEs per hour. The second FAE fan now is connected to the RH switch and kicks in when the RH gets above 98%. Target range is currently 90-94% RH.
The Lion's Mane recovered quickly from the accidental dry-out event back on Tuesday night into Wednesday. And the pictures below were taken at the 24 hour mark this evening (showing reaction to the new fan schedules and tweaked humidity hose position) - I'd say the LM is quite happy in the new microenvironment.

The Blue oysters are still recovering from the first flush's removal...hoping to see pins at some point this week. I've noticed the outer surface of the substrate in the block bag has gotten very solid-white; looks really happy/healthy as it continues to consolidate.

Had extra Ghost and Brazilian spawn from the end runs of two kinds of grain leaving a little over 1/2qt each, so tossed together because I'm a dick that likes to tinker with perfectly good things.
3 types of growth presented: standard Braz like I usually get, some meh Ghost, and underneath all that, clusters of lighter mushrooms.
You can see those clusters better coming in. They didn't mature until like 3 days after the Ghost were harvested.
Got what I deserved for tampering
2nd flush Ghost. Snagged a halfway decent clone. Have a choad forming in another box like madscientist had.
 Some reishi coming in.
