Here is one of my RW plates. They germinated around 5 days after swiping with a swab. Gonna make some transfers this weekend.

My plan is to go to t3 before transfering to lc. From lc to 1/4 pint rice jars slurried to 3 qt popcorn bags. I am going to go with a 1:2 spawn to sub ratio with 1 qt of coir as a top layer.
I made my RW T1's on 1/9. Since these transfers recovered quickly and are looking nice, I will only take these to T2 before going to lc.
These are two of my rustywhyte t1 plates.
I am tempted to go to lc from here but on the otherhand I feel a little apprehensive. I was looking to see if any would go rhizo and then make one more transfer from there but they are all pretty tomentose. The plates look healthy and I do feel confident in my handy work so I will probably make a decision by tomorrow.
I have decided to inoculate lc's with these rustywhyte t1 plates. They should be ready to shoot up some rice jars in about 10-14 days.

I ended up spawning these on 3/17. It took more than 5 days for the grain to colonize. It actually took 10 as I underestimated a bit. I usually noc up 3qt bags with a 1/4 pint of slurry. Thought I would have similar results with a 1/4 pint slurry to a 6qt bag of grain but I was wrong. Anyway, RW coming along and should start pinning in the next few days or so.
   
I called that correctly. It took 2 days for 3/6 tubs to start pinning. I bet the other 3 will be pinning by tomorrow night.

Same dish one day later. All except the two swab ones show similar growth, this one is the fastest though. Think I'll wait one more day and then decide whether to do transfers or start all over again.

Week 12 Check in...
B+ on WBS shoebox a little slow for 2 weeks and looks a little bacterial on one end
Tribe Mystery Print - before shake
and two days after
Another keep-on-keeping-on week...
The B+ shoebox is colonizing right along and I think I will see knots and/or pins in the next week or so. One end looks a little discolored, I am keeping an eye on it but it's tough to see the discoloration through the box. Overall, my coir may be a little too wet.
My Tribe mystery bill print WBS jars hit the 30% mark on Wednesday, so I gave them each a good 30 second shake. They are recovering very well. It definitely seems like WBS recovers faster than oats for me.
I also have a clone from my first successful Purple Mystic grow on agar that I will be transferring this week. If I grow that out and print it successfully, I will use the spores to be my 3rd LAGM2021 entry.

Went back to PESA spores because I wasn't satisfied with the way the myc looked. Seemed real thin and wispy. They ought to be ready for transfers in a couple of days.
 
TOC, RW and WG jars are almost finished and ought to be ready for tubs soon. TOC is lookin good on grain.

Couple PE tubs pinning after a bit more than a month. I'd be bummed with the pinset but these usually start like this and then fill up nicely in the end. I should have patched the first tub though.
Lone early bird... but a wizard is never late or early or so they say.

Did transfers to six new dishes. This was lots of fumbling. The agar chunks didn't want to fall off the scalpel and when they did, they didn't land on the center of the dish, let alone on their face. I was worried about the sideways landed pieces not germinating, but I was worrying for nothing, day two and they're almost completely covered in fluffy white growth now. I expect them to do the jump to the surface soon.

March 30th.
Looking pretty much like its father. This is the pheno I'm after that I'm growing from gen to gen to try to stabilize it.
I'm not liking that it's growing all lopsided but since it's PE and doesn't drop spores I can wait for the stragglers to catch up.
I think some of these are going to be +100 grammers judging by how them peens make the tub look like a little shoebox.
Another tub from the same swab, different culture. I have the impression these are not going to be the same pheno I'm after, early to tell though.
PE (LS) is pinning too, will take pics soon.
APEU. One quart jar of questionable spawn split into those two 1,2L containers. Fruits grow slow and thick.

The war of the casings may be shifting to the Jiffy.
 
Several pins forming on the Jiffy side (right). The one big boy on the CV side started in a void it found on that side, so it got an early start, but no other new pins on that side. So draw your own conclusions, but i am leaning towards Jiffy speeding up pinning due to less nutrition, therefore less colonization. (Shocking new info, I know!)
Ikea cookie jars getting some pins, too.
They are from suspect spawn jars and got no casing.

Tubs colonizing. Hoping to get a bit more info from the PE casing comparison to decide how I will case these. If the Jiffy is the clear winner, I will probably pasteurize a sand Jiffy mix for this casing. Poor lighting on the second picture.

Looking forward to growing some pan bama's soon. I just moved out of my old space and into a new one today so once I've gotten everything situated I can make some upgrades.
I left a gift for the next occupant of my old room -- I hope they like rust.
EDIT: Here's another photo with different lighting, the rust color came out better in this one.

Folks I've missed you. So, got fruits. All my boxes decided to be weird and fruit in solitary clusters. But they keep pumping out flushes. Up to about 40g so far with more on the way. Anyhoo, happy my first LAGM went well and real happy to be back

Jars are ready for tubs. The TOC jars look sus. The grain is fully colonized but its such light wispy growth. I'm sendin em anyway.
I made a total of 26 shoeboxes. There's 10 RW (2 cultures), 7 TOC (2 cultures), 5 WG, 3 APEU (3 cultures) and 1 Avery's. All were spawned at a ratio of 1:3 (spawn to sub) and almost 15 pounds of coir was used.
   
Put together a little RW novelty mug.

RW bowling pins startin to form. This is still my favorite variety to grow. I never really know what to expect. My WG culture is shit. It's not doing much of anything. APEU is about to hit full colonization and should knot pretty soon.

Big update! My two shoeboxes of TOC fruited and the TWC is right behind them. The first flush yielded 2oz dry from 2 myco quarts of grain (one per shoebox). Second flush is coming in right now. Not the best pin set, but I'm quite happy as its been a while since I've grown cubes. I'm excited to get everything more dialed in as the weather warms up here. I've taken 3 clones form the TOC and plan on taking the same from the TWC. Also have some 5lb bags of grain going of both that will go into monos soon.
