Unpopular opinion (lock and load!)
None of my friends whove been involved with cannabis since the late 80s have what I consider success stories with it. Either they had to quit because it was getting out of hand or its still getting out of hand and they just cannot quit.
There are NO success stories, every case is a story that they got caught up with an addictive substance, struggled with compulsive use and what I consider eroded lives, and some managed to quit and others didnt. The ones that didnt have gotten worrisomely into alcohol too.
NO SUCCESS STORIES.
I hate to say it but I consider the group of us, every single one, adversely affected by having picked up the cannabis habit.
Not one person of whom I could say "it was a good thing that he started smoking weed."
My childhood buddy who got ALS derived the benefit from weed that getting stoned out of his fuck helped him cope with the pain, but it did this by him smoking so much and mixing with too much gin that it disrupted his mind so that it couldnt process the suffering, or anything else, as well as it could sober.
Sorry guys but, every single one who became a stoner, in my view lost more to the drug than he gained.
If you become hooked into frequent use, you're fucked. You either have to quit or constantly fight sliding off into abuse.
None of our group, that I know over 30 years truly benefitted. The ones who still smoke, if they could blink weed out of existence, like they never had used it, painlessly, they would.
Thats a very unpopular opinion here.

It's a coping drug to help cope with the non-utopia of our farse wannabe utopia. It's not as bad as cigarettes or alchohol. People will naturally find ways to cope when they're in a non-utopia

I was in a real storm last year, it really caught me off guard. The sky went green and pushed all the clouds away like a little kid in the tub waving his hand, the clouds that remained were so thick it almost looked like there wasn't clouds at all. I could hear this rumbling that seemed to come from nowhere. I stood outside for quite a while, even in the rain. Just watching the storm. It was freaky though, I've seen tornadoes before but never a storm system like that. It was impressive, insane winds and fair sized hail. There were a few touch-downs that day.

Looks like I made it. Good thing, too. I just spent a hundred bucks on health food.
I would have felt pretty silly dying in a tornado right after doing that.

I think it's not the weed, it's the person who is attracted to the weed. I would bet that most of us here have substance [ab]use issues, far higher than the general population.
