Delicious crepes
    #2725945 - 05/25/04 02:50 AM (12 years, 6 months ago)

I had some salee (savory) crepes at Crepes-A-Go-Go at Berkeley today. Namely, it was the Mushroom-Cheddar-Spinach crepe with some seasonings, and it was just short of ambrosia. It had a very strong, distinct taste; the sauteed button mushrooms and melted cheese provided a strong, chewy base, while the fresh, uncooked spinach provided the bulk. The seasonings (peppers, oil, etc?) brought out the flavor. It was very good.

If you have a crepes eatery near you, I suggest you go have a bite. I always had the sweet crepes, which are reminiscent of tiramasu, and I don't have that much of a sweet tooth. That unfortunately repelled my liking of crepes until today.

Try something new !

Just wanted to share.

Yes Crepes-A-Go-Go sells surprisingly good crepes. My opinion however, on the outright best food in Berkeley. Is the Cheesesteak shop. I also enjoy that like 4-5 dollar Indian buffet close by the crepe place.

TheCow, are you in Berkeley?

I haven't gone to many restaurants in Berkeley, mostly the Food Ghetto (I think it's called Asian Ghetto?) There's a lot of ghetto places, not to be confused with Gourmet Ghetto.

I like I.B.'s chickensteaks, but the rest of their food is :projectile:.

Any other place you recommend?

Well no, I go to UCSB. My brother however goes to Berkeley so I have been there many a time. I am quite a big fan of cheesteaks in general, so The Cheesesteak Shop is up my alley. Theres a good cheese shop there which is expensive, but they have very good pizza. The Asian square thing is cool, I like the basil place myself.
