a thought about quick colonization

i've read that some people shake pint jars after innoculating them to spread the spores around and thus hasten colonization.  obviously this can't be done with a simple PF jar because of the layer of verm at the top.

what if:
instead of a layer of verm, a coffee filter was used (or maybe two).  for innoculating, one would just punch through the filter and into the substrate.  afterwards, the lid would be rotated 45 degrees (in order to prevent contams from falling through the holes).  then, just shake shake shake.

what do you guys think?  is there something that I haven't thought of?

Coffee filters aren't effective at filtering out contams. PF jars just weren't meant for shaking. If you've been doing PF jars for sometime though, why not move up to something more worth your while like grains?
