Spawn bag not fully colonising, early pinning, what do?
    #27236006 - 03/03/21 09:01 PM (2 years, 10 months ago)

hello !

got couple spawn bags that have been colonising for bout 2-3 months, however some parts wont seem to colonise at all, its stuck at about 75%. the non colonised patches look like theyve got very weak/thin myc, and are blackish/blue. dont notice any smells or anything besides.
noticed a day ago that there was some pinning and half grown shrooms!
what should be done now? still able to transfer the colonised part to monotub, and dispose of the bad patches? are the pins still consumable? any advice appreciated thanks!

@knucklehead yeah it was spore to wheat grain, tried to keep it as sterile as possible when injecting, wipes and heating needles etc.

when you say fruiting out the bag, do you mean to put substrate (pasteurised coco coir) straight into the bag? should the scuffed parts be removed first?

would the shroomies not be poison because of the bacteria? would dehydrating or boiling as tea help at all?

even tho these two bags might be a lost cause, gonna try make the most of it.
cheers for the advice tho lads

opened one of the bags, got a better look at the bacteria looking patches (couldnt get pics at the time), it was grey/white, looked like thin, weak myc. cut it open and looked about the same. divided up the blocks, put them in bunch of holes in the garden and just gonna hope for the best.

this is all i got from that block, tiny as fk, yellowish and blue bruises all over. probs not gonna feel anything from it, but still safe to put in tea? thoughts?

will try to fruit other bag later
