Where did your print come from? If it's from filthy or any of the tribe it's likely from his lineage

I've made about 150 LME agar plates now using a variety of different spores from different places (clones, ms, prints), 3 different brands of agar agar (including telephone), varying amounts of LME (from 7-15g per 500ml), some with colouring, some with yeast and yet still only ever seen a tiny bit of rhizo growth and only on the very outer edge when the full plate is colonised. Yet when I go to grain I always see rhizo quickly.
The only 2 constants are my tap water and my LME so I think it must be one of those causing it.
Can LME ingredients change alot by brand?

If you use rye broth (simmer grains 1/2 hour) for LME agar you'll get good rhizo on the plates...

I was thinking that too, wasn’t sure if lot was tribe or not.
Pretty sure those pictures are from a print from filthy. I have three of them, two are tribe and one supposedly a couple years old that I just streaked.
I just spawned a tub of “Texas” so I’m curious how that turns out. I figured it was just a half labeled toc but I was told it’s separate.

I wanna try that ESS. The dark brown caps on them are sick although I don't think I'll be putting anymore spore to agar this side of summer now. Maybe jcms jambos

25-50% oat broth in the agar... Oh, and 50 minute PC time. Primal's Experimental PE Grain Inoc>Agar Isolation Log (with pics and paragraphs) (my reason for Oat broth in agar)

It might be from Psilo from the prints I sent you back in June. I grew out his lineage.

Got everything for pasty plates but then realized I didn't have instant mashed potatoes anymore.
Can I just replace that with some flour?
Need to do some transfers, but my super ghetto attempt with just water and white flour seems to be working so far. A bit messy, so back to regular pasty plates.

You dont need instant potatoes. Just cut up and boil an actual potato until the water is cloudy then filter out the potato, add the agar, melt agar, then add the dextrose or whatever youre using
