For those that can access the R.I.P Thread in the Veterans Lounge, you will find my post here with some added pictures, however for those of us that haven't been in the community long enough to access that forum, I have pasted what I wrote below:

I was speaking with him weekly only a month ago, but it seems that what started out as skin cancer very quickly spread, to the point that within two weeks of him being completely coherent, he deteriorated to the point that he could barely send a text message, saying that his vision was going and he was feeling weak, to the point that his wife then had to text for him in order to allow us to continue to communicate.
I know, through the time we spent together, and from our many, many wonderful, long, and detailed conversations, that he was truly at peace with his own death. He was, by far, the wisest and most well read man I knew in this world. A truly incredible soul, he helped me immensely through the most difficult time of my own life, and I shall be forever grateful for him.
I think that he would want us not to mourn his passing, but rather, as much as we can, to celebrate his life and all that he had done to contribute to and share with our community. Anybody that knew him here will know how willing he was to dedicate enormous amounts of help and time to anybody struggling existentially in this life. For that was what he did; he was a born helper, a man who had counselled and provided therapy to humans from every walk of life, and almost everyone that he worked with came away from the experience amazed at how much he was able to help them, even those on the brink of losing all hope.
And so, even though my heart is heavy with the loss of another wonderful friend, I look back with only love in my heart to celebrate the life of a truly great man. I hope that all his work in this life has brought him to a place where he is back at one with the universe, in a place of great peace, love, and wonder.
Goodbye Mark, I will always love and treasure you.

I've never talked with Markos but I really, really valued his presence on here. He was a really special guy, no doubt  RIP Markos, much love. My condolences to you JSB, RGV, and all other friends n family of Markos <3

My reaction is shock, but I'll refrain from being maudlin. He was not only one of the best and most interesting posters in all the Shroomery, but one of the best and most interesting souls as well. His comprehension of spiritual subjects was on the order of genius, and I respected him immensely. I hope he is doing well on the other side.

I messaged him several times over the years for personal advice and recommendations on reading material. I will miss him interjecting into topics to set the record straight on religious and spiritual matters.

He might have saved my life. He gave me needed counsel in the darkest times. I could use his advice now.
I'd like to share some photos of the two of us when I visited him and his wife in Florida, but I can't find them.
I wish I had something more erudite and profound to say about this. It's a great loss for our community. I hope newer posters here will go back and read his posts.

Markos the beautiful, i will celebrate your life and death today, as even just an internet comrade of the community here he was able to make a great impact upon myself. I didn’t think I’d come across one such as he in this place, so when I did it sparked a joy and wonder that is not easily forgotten.
And now he’s home, again - back to the original Mind that we were never apart from to begin with.
