Ready to harvest?

Hi all- woke up this morning and my B+ pins were shrooms. I’m proud. But also, not ready. I can’t have a dehydrator here til Wednesday, I think. A little disappointed they didn’t get bigger, but I’m hoping the next flush will. Also the stems look a little stringy which I guess is okay. Questions I would love some help with—
1. Do they look ready to harvest? Looks like one or two veils have broken, if I’m understanding what that means. Also, some of the cakes have caps that are more brown, I think I over-misted them. 2. If I have to harvest but don’t have a dehydrator, how can I store them til then? Are there potency or other issues with not drying right away?

Ok. Just don’t want the ones that are newer to turn brown like the others. Hm.

Cool. Guess I’ll wait til Wednesday and hope none have rotted at that point. Still a bit scared to mist much since I don’t want the rest to water-rot so I’ll probably try dripping some water right on to the cakes.

Im pretty sure dripping water on them is worse than misting

They are not quite ready to harvest. I like to pick em when the cap is bell-shaped.
Bottom-watering the base of your cakes is a good idea, especially if your fruits are saturated with water from over-misting.

Mist then fan heavily if you keep misting, but they should be fine for another day or two. If you have to pick them, put in the fridge until the dehydrator gets there, it'll keep them fresh. You can also dehydrate them in front of a fan, on a running PC, etcetc.
But yea, I'd keep those going for a while longer, they look like they have some growth left in them. Check them a few times a day, if they start dropping spores(purple spots underneath the caps), start picking. There's also the option to pick the few that have broken veils and let the others ride

Cool, thanks all. I hadn’t heard of bottom watering. I’ve been trying to look up info about it, and it seems like there is a CBK tech that is what people use but I can’t find it. Would anyone have a link?
Wasn’t sure if you just leave it in a lid of water or just briefly, etc.-

Oh hey, just realized nobody answered your dehydrator question. If you need to harvest and can't dry em yet, put em in a tupperware or airtiight jar in the fridge. Don't freeze. They should keep for a couple weeks IIRC.

Quick FYI from research and experience they're at their peak potency when the veil is about to tear any farther than that is just water weight.

Those are not ready to harvest imo. They can still go a few days but you will need to back off on the misting because they look to be aborting.

I wouldn't mist them anymore. A day or 2 then pick them. Then dunk the cakes and put them back in your SGFC for second flush.
