Yeah.. it’s a little tricky though.. there’s a lot of water left in the jar after pulling the water out (sticks to the grain), but with the lids I use, I can dry the grains out for a few days. The lids are made of tyvek (3 layers) so I can restrict the GE 40-100% by putting tape over the filter side of the lid. If you were just using a standard lid where you can’t adjust the GE, I’d probably just spawn the grains immediately and not try to recolonize... if there’s even a hint of bacteria, those wet grains will go south pretty quick.
I just like to dry them out back to normal hydration and let them recolonize before spawning. I’ve not tried spawning immediately before, actually lol. I should try it. I’m always too worried I took too much myc from the grains and they’ll be susceptible to infection, but that’s probably not the case
These are the lid design I use for the glc grains <— those actually allow me to dry the grains out completely for storage and later use

Thanks. You just answered literally every question I had rolling around in my head about that process. Hells yeah. Makes more sense now.

Need some grow room advice from the vets.

The room is a little over 100 sqft. 10 ft ceilings.
I would like to add something like this for FAE. There's a window on the left side of the room but am worried the AC unit will dry out the tubs in close proximity so am considering running it from a window in the hallway and placing it near the doorway of the fruiting room to force fresh air in.
There's one HVAC vent in the room, the return register is down the hallway. I've been keeping the door open because of this.
I need to tidy my lighting situation up a bit and plan to add more lights soon. Room is kept 68-72f, might add a humidifier cause it's super dry in there. RH has been 10-20% lately.
Planning to have 8 shelves in here, all tubs. No more jars and petris after today. Main concern is FAE.

I doubt FAE will be a concern unless that’s a hermetically sealed room disguised to look like a normal bedroom.

8 shelves with 14 tubs each- no c02 issues there?
I'd imagine the levels will be incredibly high.

I agree with pasty's sentiment. I used a room with no vents or windows and kept the door closed. Not that my grow have been noteworthy, but they weren't noteworthily bad either. With that said, a fan or similar to move air outside the room even with the door closed would be enough to keep some circulation going. Also, maybe consider something like a small exhaust fan or larger case fan. Would be cheaper surely and avoid drying out tubs near by as it is simply creating a pressure differential.
Disclaimer: not a pro. Some doors seal better than others.

only time I had a problem with FAE was when I stuffed a walk in closet completely full with tubs. they didn't like that. a big ass room like that should be fine.

Thank you Doob! they definitely had some fuzzy feet action going on; I was out of town and unable to increase fae while these grew but they performed well nonetheless. I would’ve increased the gap between the lid when the pins hit 2-3 days to avoid this
Harvest time pic: first time using a liner, won’t make that mistake again lol my first set of tubs was a canopy much shorter than these... no liner... took me 4 back breaking hours
