I have some cakes I colonized around 2 months ago, which have done nothing in the fruiting chamber. They get some very mild fluff and nothing. This one just went mouldy after 10 days or so..
It was dunked overnight and left in the fridge. Also have tried some without dunking. Thoughts?

You could try rolling them in verm might create a better micro climate for them maybe re soak your perlite and fan a little more once the RH is up

I dunked a cake made in October a couple days ago, rolled it in verm last night. It's just an experiment but dunking and rolling in vermiculite is the standard, putting in the refrigerator is not and can be really bad if it freezes.

So they were fully colonised 2 months ago and have relatively just going into the fruiting chamber...?
If so, there's your problem...
