They don't throw much spore out. What do they smell like?
Looking good dude.

Had ~1pint of syzygy spawn leftover from a jar I was going to G2G a while back when the lid popped off the PP5 qt and threw the other half everywhere. A little coir and some massive neglect later and battabing. 😂

This flush is sterile from what I can tell. This is one of three malabar cultures I have, the first flush I had From this one I think in 2017 was all blobs and it smelled awful, and then it threw a normal Flush. I isolated it a lot better, still a good bit of variance, but got away from the mutation for the most part. But this culture often throws sterile or real Light spores on the first flush, and then it can black out on the second flushes.

These things sucked the sub dry.. pulled them out of the jar and grabbed the sub and it crumbled in my hand lol

Good shit, faht. Is that just a brf cake? I've been really liking top fruiting lately. I don't think I'll ever stop doing pf teks, but I've been trying to ponder up some new ideas for fruiting out of jars.

It’s actually a 1/4 cup of rye to a 1/2 cut of CV. Usually it’s the grains that I used for glc (recolonized) and then spawned. I use it to glimpse how the qts are going to perform that I inoculated with the glc.

Hell yeah thanks for posting all the pics, you always offer good help
I was thinking up something very similar but minus that first step of already having a colonized quart of grains. I wanted to fill a pint wide mouth 1/4 full with prepped rye, squirt some LC in there, then once fully colonized, throw in some pasteurized CV to 3/4 full and let it colonize and then case and fruit. Looking for a way to have some grows during times that I enjoy living in a van
I need to also go back and check out the Starbones mudatubs I know I'll find some answers in those that I'm looking for

Yeah.. it’s a little tricky though.. there’s a lot of water left in the jar after pulling the water out (sticks to the grain), but with the lids I use, I can dry the grains out for a few days. The lids are made of tyvek (3 layers) so I can restrict the GE 40-100% by putting tape over the filter side of the lid. If you were just using a standard lid where you can’t adjust the GE, I’d probably just spawn the grains immediately and not try to recolonize... if there’s even a hint of bacteria, those wet grains will go south pretty quick.
I just like to dry them out back to normal hydration and let them recolonize before spawning. I’ve not tried spawning immediately before, actually lol. I should try it. I’m always too worried I took too much myc from the grains and they’ll be susceptible to infection, but that’s probably not the case
These are the lid design I use for the glc grains <— those actually allow me to dry the grains out completely for storage and later use
