I’ve repc’d/reinoculated an entire tub of pf cakes that started triching out at every inoc point like 3 days after I knocked them up.  Just to see if I could.  It worked..

It was like 15 years ago.  I’m not recommending ppl do that.  Lol Smelled awful pc’ing the second time... threw the fruits away.  I was just seeing what I could get away with, for science sake.  I’ve recooked bacterial jars no problem though.. as soon as they started showing signs (like 3 days in).  It definitely works as long as you catch it early enough.  Here’s a pic of that happening.. the jar on the left was bacterial so I just repc’d it and re inoculated (you can tell by the darker grains) and the right one is a new grain qt. (The pic is obviously after I reinoculated them with a clean(er) culture)

Probably best to just make new jars but I like pushing boundaries.. helps if you’re super lazy.  I also figure there’s probably less bacteria in the jar 3 days in from a bacterial culture than there was before I pc’d the first time just being raw grain

Faht

I realized i had used bacterial B+ spawn to 4 shoeboxes and 2 tubs, this one is one i kept to see how it goes, was tossed yesterday.

So i was really thinking of just tossing all my tubs but they are fruiting fine, not great just fine.

God needs to hook me up with larger anti depressant dosage than this but whatever
Should I take spores off these little first flush fruits? Z strain

I noticed a lot of other members do not pick the fruits one at a time like I used to so trying to practice that too, I suppose thats better for "flushing" and the myce stress

Its generally agreed upon that Coir doesn't need pasturization and is an unnecessary step. But if it helps u sleep @ night :super:

MY FIRST BABY. Second actually, but I don't count the grow kit I took care of for a friend. Cloned one of those Mckennaii.

I tried to make a small jar with 50mL of colonized rye. I had some leftover after prepping and thought, why not put a slice of agar in there as well. Think I did like 1:5 spawn to coir/verm. I noticed today that there's a knotting/primordia boom EVERYWHERE except on the top. Took it out and put it in a shoebox with some perlite for a unmodified fruiting chamber because it's just 50mL.

ahhhh! nooo! sterilization is the unnecessary one with coir, you got it twisted, you definitely want to pasturize it!

sterilizing coir will melt nutrients creating a habitable environment for trichodermia

You don’t need to sterilize or pasteurize coir. I and others never do. I rehydrate with tap water.

Welcome to 2021. When we stopped using bucket tek and just use hot water. Eat's Unbucket TEK

Just FYI though, some folks still pasteurize because it works for their cultivation conditions. Do what works for you in your unique environment.
