Why fan a SGFC?

Just trying to find an answer to the question in the topic. I've been searching for a while now and read RR's description of the SGFC and it seems like fanning is overkill since the proper FAE and humidity should be provided by the temperature differential in the SGFC. Thanks all.

I think the reason we do it is to help kick start evaporation after misting but other than that I don't maybe 2 more times a day .

To help push fresh air down between the perlite grains where diffusion is otherwise limited.

I was under the impression that fresh air was already diffusing up through the perlite from the bottom of the container. Isn't that the point of having holes on the bottom?

Just like RH builds up, so do co2 levels.
Although you can leave them for a good amount of time w/o worry.

even though air is constantly flowing through the shot gun chamber,it is relatively slow moving, stale pockets can still form. Fanning just helps mix things up and flush the entire chamber very quickly. In nature, and commercial grows fresh air is constantly being provided which is ideal.

I honestly never quite believed that bi about the air moving up from the bottom. It's my opinoin the device works through gaseous diffusion. BICBW.

(i agree with everything said, and would like to add that) FAE is also the greatest pinning trigger; it causes evaporation from the substrate's surface, and swaps all the CO2 laden air with new air.

How much fanning is required? Could I use a small electric fan on slow speed for a few minutes instead of manual fanning

None. But it helps.
Some people have spray bottles with small electric fans in them...
