When you could tell how fucked up a person was on drugs or booze based on how illegible the text you were receiving from them was?
Them was the good ole days.
Now everyone sounds sober and boring.
Discuss intelligently.

I kind of think with autocorrect it's a doubled edged sword. I can type correctly when I'm fucked up, usuaually, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna take time to proofread the autocorrects on what I meant to type half the time.

I came of age during the time of autocorrect. The reality of the matter is that you can outfuck autocorrect if your brain is far enough out of wack. I remember times where I would wake up having sent entire paragraphs of nonsensical piles of letters with the occasional autocorrected word in the mix. The best part of those paragraphs is that since the source material is nonsense, anything within that spew that gets autocorrected is still nonsense but sometimes cryptic because of the dissonance between autocorrect and whatever you were trying to communicate.

So you rely on autocorrect to make your shit sound cryptic enough to be interpreted as good?

I fucken hate autocorrect on my phone. It keeps putting dumb words instead of what I'm trying to say, then even after I re-correct it 3 times it still doesn't get the message. Have to do voodoo on the stupid thing.

I always turn off autocorrect and keep the suggestion bar thingy so I can tap big wordz if I'm feeling lazy. The only time I see autocorrect as truly handy is when I'm in a hurry to get back to what I was doing, maybe finishing taking a shit(Lol), and I'm going so fast that I'm hitting the wrong letters. But I haven't had that on in forever.

For realz! It sounded more real and honest without autocorrect!
That being said, I turned mine off looooong ago because I hated how inaccurate it was. I would rather spell a word wrong then replace it with a completely wrong word that changes the whole meaning of the message.

Yup, the default is "On" for autocorrect. You have to manually turn it off in your phone/browser settings. So much better with it off and it makes you look up words you think are misspelled which leads to learning I still use the red underline feature to highlight misspelled words thou. Its like a more subtle spell-check.
