I started gardening 3 years ago for this exact reason! I believe humans should know how to grow their own food, and that we are losing our connection to the land. I wanted to do it organically, without help from big-ag, without using chemicals linked to cancer and defects. It was one of the most eye-opening things in my life so far. I'm still learning so much! I saw my back yard regenerate, attract birds, butterflies, bees, dragonflies... I saw a new ecosystem start to bloom. Plus home grown food tastes so much better. I was surprised to see how much I grew on 64 sq/ft and I was almost always giving free food away. Truly this is the best way to feed, learn, heal, and regenerate the body, mind, and land!

Not at the moment. I'm at a weird spot in my life, jumping around a bit. I do have an organic rosemary plant that's doing beautifully....I just need to transplant her, she's way past due to getting out of her tiny pot.
If mushrooms count as garden plans then yes

What is G2G? (Grain-to-Grain) Damion5050's Coir Tek (I use 5.5 - 6 quarts of water instead of 4. Also ignore step 13 and ignore the monotub completely. The only purpose of this tek is to show you how to make a simple substrate. I also add gypsum to it but not necessary)
Spitball's Monotub Tek (A liner isn't necessary but is useful)
Use 6500k lights throughout the whole process. When you wake up, turn the light on. When you go to sleep turn the light off. It's as simple as that.

I used mossy cottonwood logs as borders in a garden I planted in my moms yard. When we double checked our oysters, any that didn't make the cut we're placed gill-side down on the logs to spore print and allowed to be destroyed by ants. That was about this time of year. By September there we're oysters comin up all around her gardenQuote:

Nice start! Happy spring
I found a succulent on the mountain. Some kinda stonecrop relative I think.

Man I just ditched this thread. I'll get some pics up soon. Last summer was great, I learned a lot of things like: fuck watermelons.
Not sure if I'm gonna do quail again this year.
I'll take more pics tonight here's one for now
So far I've got (sprouted at least)
Wild mint(N. California) Spearmint Chocolate Mint Peppermint Unidentified flying mint Endive Arugula Peas Pinto Beans Iris (wild N. Alaska) 4 kinds of onions (one wild species from northern AK) 5 kinds of Tomatoes 3 kinds of peppers Zucchini 10+ kinds of poppies 6 species of strawberry (wild collections from Oregon + california Apple tree Cherry tree Douglas fir (wild from Oregon) Western red cedar (why not?) Stonecrop (wild Oregon) 2 kinds of oregano 3(?) Kinds of basil 3 kinds of thyme Violets (wild Oregon) Raspberries (wild AK) 2 species of Blueberries (wild AK) Pacific Blackberry (wild Oregon) Oregon Salmonberry (wild Oregon) Oregon Thimbleberry (wild Oregon) 7 strains Cannabis indica/sativa Cannabis ruderalis (russian original) and some kinda bred-out version idk Dwarf kale Tobacco Oregon wormwood other Artemisia species Lily of the valley (wild Oregon) Celery 2 kinds radishes 3 kinds carrots Red and black currants (wild AK) Kinnikinnick (wild AK) Cranberries (wild AK) Akpiqs (cloudberry/salmonberry rubus so. Wild AK) Unidentified purple "salmonberry" Rubus species (wild AK) Bluebells (wild AK) Chamomile Wild AK) Pineappleweed (Wild AK) Yarrow (wild AK) Rabbits (mutts) Chickens
Goats in a month or two Pasture grasses and grains getting seeded this week.
Alaska has ruined my unconditional love for all dogs. I would really hate to have to shoot one, but the last one ran all the way up our road and tried to attack my kids. He comes back he's done. They already killed all my laying hens (again) while I had my back turned for 5 minutes. My kids and animals are not a problem, they don't leave the compound. My fences keep my stuff IN just fine. Our dogs dont runoff or attack. Your fucking worthless asshole sledog husky-shepherd mutt pieces of shit are the issue when you refuse to leash, train, or restrain them, and they go out rampaging for days on end and nothing changes so unless you figure out a way to keep them off my property they are going to die. I really am sorry, but I've warned you a few times now, in person, with a dead bird in-hand. How many more dead animals do I have to bring over to show you? Tie up your fucking dogs people, I'm not losing any more birds this year. And there is no way your dogs are gonna hurt my family. Fuck you. *exhale*
Alright let's go shoot some squirrels. Get the crock pot ready, mama.
I'm forgetting a ton hold up I'll brb

This is awesome. I love this initiative man. Fed up, fuck it. Take shit into my own hands. No point in sittin' around bitching and whinning about it.
Also thisQuote:

YES! At least here anyway.
A farmer down the road from me has loads of goats. No fencing or anything. Free to roam anywhere. They seem to always stay in the yard which is contrary to what I hear about goats.
How are you doing so far this year?
