They look lucy not alb. You may have indeed struck gold. Curious to see the spore drop if it happens.

 do you even know what it means to me leucistic? (googles real quick)
A lot of what people are calling leucistic are hypomelanistic.

They might be Albinos for sure but they dont look anything like the fat ass PF classic.

The caps kinda remind me of PEu.

They for sure need some air though.

It's supposed to be PE (my very first PE tub), but I'm skeptical because not only did I receive these spores as a print and not as a swab, the pinset produced is magnificent with zero signs of mutants or blobs despite not having a casing layer.
My intention was to case 12 to 14 days after full colonization, but on day 11 it was already pinning like crazy. I figured it was too late to case at that point.

Also, the myc ripped through the substrate and top layer and looked just about fully colonized in 6 days.

And not to mention, regarding these prints of PE, when the question of "Aren't swabs required with PE as they do not drop spores?" was asked to the person providing these prints, his/her reply was something along the lines of "Nope. PE is just a regular cube."

Sooo....

Maybe this person has been growing and printing PE6 while believing it's just PE??    Who knows.

Problem is, if they come out looking like any regular cube, then I have no way of knowing what they actually are...!   :nut:  :stars:  :undecided:

yeah they look like normal pins to me, epic pinset though! and with a reply like "Nope. PE is just a regular cube." i'd be pretty confident you got a normal cube there, not pe, lol. still awesome though

I have no question they are PF Classic. Spores for this grow came from a print I made from a shoebox I grew out about 2 years ago from a MSS from a sponsor. I know vendosr can make mistakes but even if that is the case, this is the first grow to look different.

Either way, I dig the look and hope I can get them to repeat it.

A.k.a, not to contradict you, but before I say anything about conditions what visual queues suggest needing more FAE? The legginess of them or something else?

I crush mine because the bags I got are barely big enough to hold 1/4lb aaaand I wanna suck as much air/humidity out for quality assurance. I also add an O2 absorber with a desiccant packet so the little moisture left is contained while the air become inert. If some other dummy opens a bag and fails to reseal it or transfer vessels then at least they were 100% until they fucked up.

Bag appeal isn't a concern I take it?

Oh Cele, please tell me at what temperature did you colonize and pin/fruit those in? Only tried once and failed with what I do with all my oysters with success:shrug: no luck with BPO tho.

Same one told me they might need cold shock this strain. You know anything about that?

I'm jealous!

What gets me though is that this person has well over 3000 posts and has great ratings.  Typically someone who's involved as much as that with the community would at least know some very basic things about PE...!

Regardless, I've already accepted that these are not PE, and thankfully I have some real (🤞...) PE from another source (swabs, this time...lol) currently on agar and looking pretty good.  So we'll just cross our fingers that what's on agar will be the real deal!  😎

I dunno man. I'd wait and see. Look at this multispore grow of sw pe.

Same grow, but one quart done in a mini with a different section of the plate.

Still completely possible that it's pe imho. I have totally regular pinset about 50% of the time.

I couldn't remember my account name (this one) after not using it for a few years, so I made another account. Eventually, a few years ago I was trying to look up photos I'd posted of one of my early grows and found my OG account, and gave Ythan the login credentials so I got it back. People are only allowed to have one account, so the newer one got deleted and here I am. The other account was not all that active either though lol.

here's the old puerto grow from 2001 btw. Still the tallest fruits I've ever seen at 13"

Multispore, so not much of a culture aside from a contam check. Surface conditions are the key .

I could definitely be wrong but yeah usually when they’re super long and skinny like that it’s an air thing.

The yield on that one quart mini is insane! How often do you hit over 500g wet off of a single quart? Hoping the PE I'm about to put to grain can do something like that but damn. Good shit.

I’ve only ever hit 500 in the first flush from one quart twice, both PE clones.

Definitely super nice getting it all at once and being done.

Oh no, you are definitely not wrong. They are hurtin'. Kinda forgot about them and the lid has been fully on and paintings piled on top. They were both dry and starved for air. I just wanted to ask before mentioning that so I didn't contaminate you opinion so to speak  This is also my first go using a HC instead of SGFC and there was a decent amount of guess work in dialing it in in the beginning .

I'm about to pour some plates now as I need to do a bunch of work for LAGM and gourmets and everything really... so I'll probably go ahead a take some tissue from one now and will keep an eye out for when the caps open. I'm just hoping that whatever these turn out to be I can save those genetics. I just really dig the look of these guys some hoping it really is genetic and not environmental.

Every time, pretty much. That wasn't even the biggest of that grow by a long shot. Different plate section, one quart: 998g and a 104g chonker the size of a baseball.

Edit: I will add that when growing pe with water heavy fruits like this, my dry weight comes out to about 7%ish, so ultimately the yield comes down to a more expected level (but still pretty damn good)
