Haven't been on here in a while, I haven't been able to really cultivate where I've been living, it sucks. I had poured a sleeve of plates this fall, and since I knew I might not be using them for a bit wrapped them up really well with cling wrap (my parafilm went stale) in front of my hood and then put them in the sterile sleeve, folded + taped up the top. So tonight I decide to take a look and ewwwwww. Only 8 plates are still clean. The clean plates have no condensation (none did at the start) but the moldy plates are all wet.
Looks like mold snuck in thru the edges -

Wait so what's the deal with Playa? It's just a cube variant, right?

Yeah. I’d say so based on my experience. It doesn’t do anything weird like natalensis but the couple people I’ve given playa to said it had a weird trip to it. They had the same clone though so it could just be the genetics or coincidence or whatever else.
Well now I know why people talk about pruning king pins.

Pretty sure it’s mostly my fault for not giving them light sooner. They seem to be super reactive and won’t form caps or mushroom bodies until they see light. Until that happens they kinda just keep bubbling up.

I'll be vacuum sealing these, never tend to crush tho, its nice seeing the whole shroom, before it gets devoured
Its my first time running these, I thought they were sporeless when they started fruiting but they just have a very faint drop. I didn't get a chance to print this morning but I'll do some after the 2nd flush if you fancy one.
Can you vac seal them fresh?

Looking forward to seeing what these turn into...!

It's supposed to be PE (my very first PE tub), but I'm skeptical because not only did I receive these spores as a print and not as a swab, the pinset produced is magnificent with zero signs of mutants or blobs despite not having a casing layer. My intention was to case 12 to 14 days after full colonization, but on day 11 it was already pinning like crazy. I figured it was too late to case at that point.
Also, the myc ripped through the substrate and top layer and looked just about fully colonized in 6 days.
And not to mention, regarding these prints of PE, when the question of "Aren't swabs required with PE as they do not drop spores?" was asked to the person providing these prints, his/her reply was something along the lines of "Nope. PE is just a regular cube."
Sooo....
Maybe this person has been growing and printing PE6 while believing it's just PE?? Who knows.
Problem is, if they come out looking like any regular cube, then I have no way of knowing what they actually are...!

Hmmmm...for how long? Sounds like it would turn into gross mush.
for long term, use fruit dryer to dry them so dry they crack, not bend, when you bend them. then vacuum seal along with a pack of silica gel, and also maybe an oxygen absorber packet.

Did I just luck out and get some albino PF Classics? They are not aborts; all are steadily growing. Noc'd with the same mss as the rest of the cakes. I guess I'll find out when the caps open. Either way I'll likely be cloning them.
