I've got some nice black pearls coming along and some lilac cayenne's sprouting.

It's been a few years since I've done it myself, but these plants are super-beautiful and easy to grow. They're perennials in the tropics but annuals in temperate climates. And they love humidity...
This is from a grow with a couple of Thai varieties:

Seeing this thread, including digging up my old pics, has inspired me. I think I'm going to try to get some jalapenos and heaven-facing chilies going from seed this year.
Anyone think of a better tek than this guy puts out, he seems like a real obsessive to me!

@LeafRaker There are a lot of good resources on Youtube. I particularly enjoy videos by "Khang Starr". Very calm, intelligent, inquisitive person with a soothing voice.
Everyone has their way of doing things. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the method in your video. I'm sure it suits him, maybe it suits you. That said, I do just about everything differently:
1. He lives in a tropical climate, so peppers are perennial for him. I live in New York. 2. I grow in the ground. He grows in pots. 3. I grow many different cultivars, so I germinate in wet paper towels in a warm chamber. 4. He germinates a lot of seeds in a big pot with compost and sand, then digs them up. 5. I transfer sprouted seeds to a plastic starter flat with seed starting mix. 6. He grows "chillys", I grow chilis

There's a hierarchy to all this: -clearly at the bottom there's Chili's -then comes to chilis -next, chilies -and then when you make them your life and you have them at every meal, they become chillys

Looking very, very good! My grows are a bit less tidy looking... How many varieties do you have going? I think I'm seeing at least half a dozen.

I used those white bags last year too. "ENPOINT Plant Grow Bags, 200pcs Nursery Bag 5.5 x6.3 Inches"
I like them, but I think they are made of reclaimed PET bottles. So they don't decompose. I like to cut off the bags before transplanting to the garden.

Gulp, i'm slow on the uptake!
I dig the variety and your care with handling. I needed to see this to start things right!

I decided since weed grow will be legal in NY in three years, I will buy a new tent.

Until then of course I will just use it for peppers
It's hard to tell in the picture, but they are all in plastic trays so I bottom water all.

I started mine too early. They are all flowering and ready to go out. I have over a month before they can go out in zone 5! So I get my tweezers and pluck hundreds of flowers one by one.
