I usually buy fresh un-dried mushrooms, which buying 25g for ?10 between two can only give me so much of a trip. so i need a quick an simple way of drying them out, i cant use fans or anything which isn't "stealthy" so i hear of people storing them in freezers, does this help dry them out in a couple of days/hours? or is there a better way? any suggestions?

No you cannot store fresh mushrooms in the freezer. This will result in a nasty slimey mess when you take them out. Buy some dessicant.Nothing is going to dry fresh mushrooms in a few hours.Your looking at at least 18-24 minimum for cracker dry shrooms, depending on how you dry them.If you just put them in dessicant without drying partially with a fan, they will take longer. I dont know how well this works,Ive never done it,but I have heard of a few people who put them in some paper towels and place them in their computer to dry.Again I have no idea if this works well or not,but ive seen several posts where people say they did that and it worked.

Another alternative is a good dehydrator with an adjustable temperature setting. Much quicker drying time, but you might not be able to hide it as well as it will be plugged in and making noise for at least a few hours.
I don't really understand though, you can only buy 25g at a time?

if you dry them you're gonna have roughly 2.5g, you're not going to have more than you started with actually probably less, fresh shrooms are more potent then dried ime, you're just wasting your time

The cheapest way, I still practice is the 60Watt-Lamp method Put shroomies on kitchen paper, cover them with black T-Shirt and let a 60 Watt-lamp shine from about 10-15 cm upon them... Even works, if you close the light at nights. Lasts about 24-48 hours to 'allmost' cracher-dry. Stands in the FAQs, too.
