alcohol and drugs dont mix
    #2718902 - 05/23/04 05:18 PM (12 years, 6 months ago)

i have a rather interesting trip report, its a warning to anyone dumb enough to mix pot, alcohol, and drugs, one night i was over a friends house there were 2 girls and 2 guys there, we had a shitload of hard iced tea and we had scraped resin out of a few bowls and smoked it,then i downed at least 8 drinks, then took 200 mg of seroquel, thats when i started blacking out and the next day i could only remember segments of what happened before. i had engaged in some sort of sexual activity with both girls and guys at the end of the night and i kept yelling random words, especailly with the police driving by and i was very drunk and kept constantly saying stupid shit like i wish you would all die so i can fuck myself, basically the next day i had no memory of what happened except for a few segments, dont mix seroquel with alcohol that shits too powerful.

the word is moderation..

Why did you take an antipsycotic??

What purpose does it serve??

If you hadnt been taking it, you realize 200mg could be toxic for somebody who hasnt had time to build up the medication in their system? Some people start as low as 25mg 3 times daily for a few days before moving up to 50 to 75 etc etc. Also, it is metabolized by the liver exclusivly, along with cannabis and alcohol, I dont know on which enzymes but I still know its really not a good thing.

Antipsycotis do not do anything for a casual user.

"Quetiapine is extensively metabolized by the liver. The major metabolic pathways are sulfoxidation to the sulfoxide metabolite and oxidation to the parent acid metabolite; both metabolites are pharmacologically inactive. In vitro studies using human liver microsomes revealed that the cytochrome P450 3A4 isoenzyme is involved in the metabolism of quetiapine to its major, but inactive, sulfoxide metabolite."

"The risks of using SEROQUEL in combination with other drugs have not been extensively evaluated in systematic studies. Given the primary CNS effects of SEROQUEL, caution should be used when it is taken in combination with other centrally acting drugs. SEROQUEL potentiated the cognitive and motor effects of alcohol in a clinical trial in subjects with selected psychotic disorders, and alcoholic beverages should be avoided while taking SEROQUEL."

A nice fat bowl of some good pot is the perfect way for me to end a night of drinking and just finally pass out.
