And let's not forget that I spawned slike 30 or so jars that were probably most bacterial but I still have4 gotten, now, just shy of 20-lbs wet.
And p9, you saw the pictures, all along.

So from 30 jars of bacterial spawn you got ~19 wet pounds of fruit.
19 wet pounds is 8618.25 wet grams;
8618.25-92%(7928.79 gr)water weight= 689.47 dry grams.
689.47 dry grams divided by 30 jars= 22.98 dry grams/jar.
91.92 dry grams/ tub or 3.28 oz. (if you're using 4 quarts/tub)
Just over 3 oz per full size mono. Pretty good for mixing a bunch of bacterial spawn together.
Keep in mind that I get between 6 and 7 dry ounces/tub first flush with clean spawn, but still, I'm surprised that you got that much.
Good job

Keep in mind with sketchy spawn you want to use less coir and have it a tiny bit on the dry side.
Quick colonization is the name of the game.

The reasoning behind less coir would be to progress to fruiting as soon as possible, minimizing the chance of the contamination taking over, right?
Why slightly drier coco?
Would the contamination favor a moister substrate? Or does that depend on what the contamination is.
Would a drier substrate not slow the growth of the mycelium?
Thank you A.k.a and everyone for posting here, this is a great thread for learning.

Wet environments are favorable for bacterial blooms. If you start with bacterial spawn it's best to run on the dry side so as not to exacerbate the situation.

That is awesome info! I think I got my field capacity right with this last bit of coir. It almost seemed too dry but I could squeeze a drop or 2 if I squeezed really hard. I’ll try to spawn 1:1 for the rest of the jars in this batch which should be over the next few days. Hopefully fast colonization and some fruits!

My Huatla must have finally been much healthier spawn. I had my best flushes from those jars and was actually a cunt-hair over FC.

I'm guessing anytime you have a clump that is not breakable by an moderate shake your spawn isn't great.

I tried a shake today at 30% and had this clump.

Spawn that doesn’t break up easily can be a sign of contamination but doesn’t always mean so. I’ve noticed that sometimes grains clump up around the wedge and that makes it harder to break up. How did you inoculate?

If it's been consolidating for a while it's normal, if not, chunky spawn is a poor omen.

This is usually where the clump is.
Good thing is a couple jars did break at the agar wedge with a couple of smacks - this was the worst one but I don't go too crazy shaking.

Thanks for the reminder p9hu7. I may have to go back and clean my culture. What a journey. I've spent so much time in this loop.

When spawn is completely clean it should shake apart quite easily, if you have a death star floating around in your jar while you shake it generally has thick mycelium holding it all together. Ime mycelium thickens in response to bacteria.
Master jars that have looked pretty good otherwise have been tossed after I see the death star.
I won't g2g anything that doesn't readily break apart, if it's not clean enough for gtg it just not clean enough period. I'n my eyes.
