Dude, good spawn can always be a garbage culture. And shitty performing can be good to fruit. It is trial and error like it or not. We all search for something that covers all the bases. I think I have found that like maybe 3-4 times, and a new one in pe6 just lately.

Thanks p9hu7,
I am growing out bacterial GT jars, in the jar under coir. Tried with Malabar, too, but I may find it too far gone.
Just a thought, I get cluster headaches. Shrooms are the only good prophylactic, so I need to harvest whatever fruits I can. So other with Suicide Headaches may have a similar game plan: get the best you can and get better at getting the best you can.
That said, this is a great write-up, and very useful to this noob.
The jars with this A2G nocc looked beautiful. Still doI think, but seem to have stalled. I nocc’d 5/9.

Any thoughts on a way forward?

In his absence:
Your grain may be on the dry side which can make for slow colonising. I'd personally be giving that a shake at this point and see if it wakes up.

This is a fantastic resource! Though I still have newbie eyes, especially for millet since everything happens on a smaller scale compared to the large grains. How does this jar look? These photos were after a shaking or two.
Day 8:

Day 9:

Pluses: fast growth. I don't see spiky nor milky mycelia. Minuses: the mycelia is brighter in some spots than others. Not really consistent. How do they look?

Yeah those jars aren't too bad, however they probably have a touch of bacteria. Those white patches combined with the excessive condensation indicates some less than optimal spawn. Spawn them as per usual though and pay close attention to the results and compare to other grows.

I need to take a breather, I have a lot of interesting work on my plate and I often find myself dedicating a lot of time to the shroomery when I should be working on my projects.

Looks pretty clean to me, are you in a cool room or a room that fluctuates in temperature?

Ime if you have dirty pan spawn you’ll know for sure. Cubes tolerate most contam enough to make it hard to tell but pans will just tap out immediately or flood with metabolites.

Both of the above.
Interesting you say that A.k.a, I've never seen much pan spawn because I've been trying the LC route. But I have seen a lot of metabolites in my sub bags... which is highly offtopic in here so I'll go no further.

By the way, these contammed before the first flush with patches of irregular mycelia and a touch of green (very hard to see in the photo). The spawn ratio was to around 2.5 parts coir, but I considered this jar to be more than one myco-quart since the jar was so full, and because millet has so many inoculation points. (It wasn't a ridiculous amount of spawn, but definitely wasn't conservative like I would do for a jar that looks dirty.)
