You clean your shitty balls with a whisk?

I've spawned a jar of suspect PE that was many months in stasis in the fridge (Feb). I like to spawn shoeboxes deeper than usual (I would have preferred to have the top layer run even with the rim of the shoebox) and always run PE with a good compressed/level top layer of CV to prevent blobs, let's see how this bitch plays out:

This individual shoebox will be fruited in a sweater box that will act as a fruiting chamber.

Thats a thicc sub, P.
Ive never made a shoebox thicker than 2.5-3". Are you using a single myco-quart per box with that thickness?

Gonna give a thicker sub a shot with the PE im cleaning on agar now.
Would you recommend such a thick sub regardless of variety, or do you only go this thick for PE?

My subs are a bit thicker than usual. My tubs have 11-1200gr coir, for instance.

That would be awesome. You could try little balls of steel wool dipped into agar/brf mixture.
I wonder if loose hydroponic rockwool might do the trick

Hydroponic medium like rockwool is inert, no food source. No substitute for good ol wholesome grains.
If you tried to invent the perfect source of nutrition that also broke up nicely into small individual inoculation points you'd quickly realize that you're back at square one with grains.
Jesus invented the best spawn for our mush 6000 years ago while simultaneously inventing dovetail joints, and also the entire cosmos, don't be blasphemous.

I think we should breed these fuckers better. I mean the life cycle of the mushroom is short enough to fit a few thousand generations in a lifetime. Maybe we should all fruit all of our contaminated grain. You know most tubs even when left to go really nasty will push out a fruit or two. I say we should be printing these fruits and continually running those genes. Maybe never really bother to get the culture clean, just keep running it in a challenged environment and and keep refining the genes for individuals that push through despite contamination.
Imagine a day when we throw all our PCs in the trash. Simply hydrate some grain out of the bag, jar it up and carry your jars over to your open air lab space and drop a wedge in. Or maybe just fill a spray bottle with LC and simply spray it on a 50 gallon drum of grain in open air and colonize a few hundred pounds of spawn in a few days without ever generating any heat or using electricity.
I'm here anytime. If you all need more revolutionary ideas just hit me up.

I've thought the exact same thing, anything that can survive unfavourable conditions should be permitted to evolve. We are constantly selecting for potency and morphology but rarely if ever do I see people selecting for resistance to contamination.

Lol I’ve already been contributing then.
I’ve spawned and printed/cloned soooo many sketchy jars. Bacteria, yeast, tiny bit of weird brown mold one time.
Everytime you top fruit some gross jar you’re actually helping the cream genetics rise to the top

I think when I get my new spot and have 2 places to do things I will actually put energy to this goal. It's doesn't have to bear fruit anytime soon as it'll be fun anyways.
