I have quite a few burst grain in my millet after the pc run (15psi, 90 mins), is that normal? I soaked for around 18 hours beforehand. I'll share a pic soon with the a2g video for feedback. I pc'd 10 jars and the 3 on top seem to be the worse effected, with the burst grains they've expanded to near full.

Heres some photos, to post the video I need to figure out whether to get Vimeo pro at 5.99 per month or that YouTube is risk free and ok to use.

They look wetter in the photos than they do to the eye. They sound dry and loose to shake. My issues are the few burst grains and the jars are too full.

Photo anomaly or not those look wet AF. I mean you have grains stuck to the glass and I can see the water. Way bigger issue than a few burst grains.

It's the first time I've used white millet, I soaked for 18 hours, left them in the bath on a sheet of muslin to drain for around an hour, jarred them and pc'd for 90 mins at 15 psi.
If you really stare hard you can see a bit of moisture on the ones stuck to the sides (P9 said it is normal to have some stuck for a few days) but honestly it is barely visible to the naked I. I agree in the photo it looks super wet.

Mine usually look a lil damp for a day or two but a few shakes and it gets redistributed.
I found that I’d get burst grains at the water level in the pc. Raised my rack up so jars weren’t touching the water and significantly reduced bursting.

I put 3 quarts water in so with 10 jars that was probably almost neck high on the bottom 7 I'll raise my rack and put a little less in next time.

Definitely too wet, you can see it clearly in the picture. Jars like that, are they even possible to sterilize properly

Im not worried about his millet jars. Have they been shaken? Are they at room temp?

Yeah Ive never been able to use millet, so maybe its ok. I just know if they were oats, they would be a mistake in my book.

They have now and yes are at room temp. It's really frustrating that I can't get a good pic on my phone, they sound dry like a rattle when shook, there is zero clumping just a few stuck to sides. I totally get why judging by that photo they look like mushy quinoa or something.
My main concern is how full they are, that is my bad and lessen learned.

Yep 18 hours cold and then left for about an hour to kind of dry but not strained.
Hopefully this is clearer. Volume for the shake
Edit: Vimeo has added some weird edits for me there lol. I actually focused on the seeds before shaking.

How do you mean not strained? It takes me about 20 minutes do get it to stop dripping when I strain it in a nylon mesh bag.

I didn't apply pressure to strain is what I mean.
I soaked it in my insulated tub I use for core pasteurisation (lid off) for 18 hours with a muslin cloth (brewers bag) lining. After 18 hours I took the lining out and laid it down in the bath but didn't really make an effort to separate it out or stir it at any point. It laid there for about an hour draining then I jarred it and PC'd for 90 at 15psi.

I have lots of millet, lots of jars and plenty of colonised plates so if you guys think I'm best starting again then it's no biggie.

When I jarred it I would describe it as damp/sticky but not dripping, there was no liquid pooling.

And on topic as if there are contams then this could be the source rather than the millet prep or my SAB tek, here is the plate I used.
