When I zoom in on that I see lots of questionable areas. Is this the same culture as your failed tubs? If so, do yourself a favor and simply start over from scratch ASAP. Sometimes its the only way to move on.

Not to turn this into a “hows my spawn” thread, but....

I think they’re a little bacterial. This is apeu and it’s taking forever. A lot of it looks healthy but some spots are questionable.

I get a tad confused with the brightness of white and its "milkshake or icecream" appearance. The jars above look creamy white, but cubes seems to look thicker and whiter on some grains, and whispier on others.

It does look bacterial...(can we come up with some shorthand here? Maybe "looks backy"?) But I have found that telling for sure early is hit or miss, once fully colonized (if it gets there) it becomes easy as cake. I sure wouldn't dumpster it by any means. Its those creamy sections that are sus to me.

I'm always suspicious of myc that looks like this, you'll know when you shake. If it's hard to shake apart then you know it's got some issues. Do you have much condensation in the jars?

Very little to no condensation.
Apeu has always been super dense myc for me but the slowness is what’s worrying me. It was knocked up on 1/26 I think. I did have the temps way too low the first week though.
I kinda think what happened with this and another jar is the low temps slowed the myc enough that whatever small amount of bacteria survived was able to get a foothold.
It’s always tough for me with this type of myc.

The whole shake thing confuses me. Are there exceptions when grains shouldn't shake easily? Certain grains? I see so many people talk about using rubber hammers, tyres, spoons etc. that seem to be experienced cultivators (maybe not spoons that was just me with my jars )
Is it because they are using grains that tend to be hard to shake? Because they have left them to colonise for so long that even though they are healthy they are pretty solid? Or because they actually have bad spawn?

These areas where the myc seems to reluctantly proceed over the grain and seems to only progress due to a wave being created by myc growing thicker above it and being shoved over the grain. I like to see the transparent filaments of mycelium on the leading edge kind of reaching fast over the next grain before it thickens and turns white, as opposed to watching a marshmallow kind of roll onto the next grain.

I'll wager that you'll start to get some heat in there as it colonizes. She's looking thick and slow, when you shake it up it will want to cling together as large balls of grain that don't want to bust up. I don't grow that variety so I can't comment on how that mycelium looks but if it's bacterial (as I suspect that it is) you'll experience the things I've mentioned.

Lol clockwork id spawn that for sure if you’ve got the room, It’ll almost definitely go at least one flush.
Plus I think it’s worth running known bacterial spawn when you start cult so you know what it looks like and how it acts.

I would AKA if all my shoeboxes weren't already full of bacterial spawn haha. I do actually have 8 Qts of this stuff, the other 6 are fully colonised just rock solid. Maybe it's time for a bacterial mono to run alongside the shoeboxes!
Sorry P9, I know you must be hating this. I am learning honestly. The millet for my next run will be prepped exactly as you do yours and my SAB Tek is going to be beyond anal when inoculating.

I love talking about this, we're all here to learn from each other. No apology necessary.

I think we should take a moment and talk about your hardwater situation. How can you see anything through those jars? Might add a bit of vinegar to your PC before running it?
Oh and I have 100% spawned worse.
