Today was my first time out mushroom hunting. I wasn't too serious about it, just hoping I would find a little something. I found what seems to be two different types of mushrooms, but they didn't look like any active ones I've seen. I have no pictures but information on both.
Habitat: Both were found in hay in northeastern Massachusetts.
Gills: (1)Not attached. (2)Cap hasn't opened yet.
Measurements: Cap(1)-3.8cm (2)Hasnt opened but I would estimate about 3.2cm Stem:(1)8.5cm (2)5cm
Characteristics: Stem(1)-White, hallow (2)Also white and hallow. Has a patch of orange near the bottom Cap(1)-It just rained this morning and it seems to be secreting a black, liquidy substance which covers the cap. Not entirely sure thats its original color. Has a spot of orange at the top. Kinda pointy. (2)Orangish around the top and gets lighter towards the bottom, almost white.
