Tub of side pin shoeboxes threw a couple lighter colored Mazatapec. Might be environmental, leucistic, or possible albino? Either sporeless or albino. Took a couple clone samples and a couple swabs. Edit: Tried a late case for some silly reason on these which might be why they side pinned so hard.

Clone those mofos!! And while you wait on them to grow out, check out the Pheno Hunters forum in my sig... trying to do the same with a few varieties there...

Lol. I. Can’t find which thread we are talking about. But any registered member should be able to access, create posts and comment in the main forum area. I know a few have gotten in fine. It’s just the private forum that’s invite only for members. But there nothing interesting going on there yet 🤣
So by all means, click the banner in my sig and post away. Would love to see what everyone else is working on.
Lame duck flush on this TAT tub. Sending a clone from previous tub to LC tonight.. hopefully performs better.

Playa Uvita 1st gen. This pheno is crazy. Some stems measure 12+inches but the caps always stay so small and rarely open up. Seems like about 1 out of 10 will drop a visible spore print. The tubs smell like garter snakes when they get close.

What did they look like wild?
Playa is up there with Melmak imo on crazy pheno diversity.
These are from the playa elf pheno print you sent me

Always with the long solid stems. I need to dig up the regular playa and see if I can get some of those weird snakey PE ones.

The one that these came from was very pale and tall with a strait stem and a fairly small cap. It was growing in a sandy area in tall thick wet grass in a meadow next to a river just past a patch of giant bamboo. It was very moist and dim there and I could not see any manure anywhere nor did it look like cows had grazed there for some time.
All the rest of the cubes I found in that area were massive and classic cube shape with dark brown/red caps. They were all in areas where manure was common and strewn. Some grew right out of it and some just next to it. Both horse and cow. Some were as high as my knee and had caps the size of dinner plates. Easily 2 lb fruits.
I made close to a hundred prints but only kept a few. Most were sent out to the spore vendors of the time that I could find addresses for. I never heard back from any of them. This was in 2004.
I'm not 100% sure it is even a cube.
The ones you are rockin' A.k.a. are the most cube like in the tub so far. The ones you have are progeny from the same print that put these out. Have you notices any crazy stems with yours?
I put some outside over the summer and they got really big with big fat caps and squat wide stems and made tons of spore. The outdoor fatties looked almost totally white.

Yeah they’re definitely a cool variety.
Nichrome hows the trip for you with these? I haven’t tried any yet but a couple people that did described them like the sativa of shrooms.
Strong and cerebral. Although one guy said they kept taking him down dark roads
I did have a few caps that didn’t open at all really, just enough to see inside if you hold it upside down after the veils dries out and breaks. The first two pictures I posted are from a clone taken from the tub in the last couple pictures. No crazy stems they’ve all been very thin and dense and mostly straight unless they were from side pins.
I started from spores I took from that tub around the beginning of the month and they should be ready for grain again tomorrow. Got plates cooling now so when I wake up I’m taking transfers and dropping the t1 to grain. This time I got decent looking myc, the first time it was very thin and I wasn’t even sure it was cube mycelium lol.
