Yeah cuz there’s a lot of moisture released from a full load of mushrooms. It’ll be fine even if you leave it in there dehydrating for a week.

I assumed they did thanks but if there is anything I've learned about mycology it's not to assume.

I'll leave it overnight on a lower temp just to be certain.

Thanks

You could weigh it and put it back in for a couple hours then weigh it again to see if it’s still losing weight too.

It’s really dry where I’m at but if I put a couple little ones in they’ll be done in 3-4 hours.

Thanks, I'll leave it til the morn as I'm in the UK so its gone 10pm already. If it ends up 3g dry I'm happy with that for my first ever fruit on a brf cake. I wasn't sure I'd even get a trip between all 10 cakes

One of them now has about 20 pins on it, I guess most will abort, can I wait to take them off when I fruit whatever makes it to maturity or do they need to be removed quickly after aborting?

I wouldn’t expect many to abort short of some specific negative factor.

Question: I buy food grade wheat berries... and its so clean, I don't pre-rinse it. Is there anything on the outside of grains that need to be washed off? Or do we do it to keep dirt from causing clumps...

I get my oats from tsc and it has all that shit. It'll float when it boils and you can scoop it out. I've left my fruits in the dehydrator for days before without issues.

Yeah I scoop out as much as I can but still get left with alot of crap. Works though.

I got Avery's Albino swabs today and they look coloured, do you think they are something else not sure if they'd show up at all on a swab? From a reputable UK supplier...

So I've been messing around with no boil prep for wheat, but I'm thinking I should move over to millet because I'm having bacteria problems with wheat. There is steam coming off your millet in this photo... but it can't be hot after a 12hr soak. How do you dry your millet? Can you load it somewhat damp?

I highly recommend a hard boil for wheat. If the grain isnt fully hydrated before
sterilizing, then you grain possibly isnt being sterilized properly.

I don't think that large grains like wheat and oats are well suited for no prep/soak only; they're just too dense.

If you don't get the core entirely hydrated it won't sterilize. Millet and other bird feeds are the best options in my opinion. I was just reading a post where a member was simply boiling oats without a pc cycle, applying some sketchily made lc and getting fruits, so I guess anything is possible. Any time I've ever tried to soak my wheat it failed to properly hydrate.

Those where a 3rd generation mutation that i cloned from koh Samui they took about 15 days to colonize then another 8 days to fruit. We ended up disbanding the genetics after a few months unfortunately but they where really neat and very potent.

I reccomend boiling all grains. I have found millet to inherently have lots of broken grains which will become starchy and so a cold rinse after cooking both stops any overcooking but also reduces the sticky starches. Cleaned Milo gets very plump when boiled but has less slime than millet, requiring no rinse.

Millet is more than 2x the cost of oats. I find millet and milo make wonderful masters so I go agar>millet(jar)>milo(jar)>oats(bag). Recently I got oats, milo, millet, winter wheat, and rye.
