PC tower riser solutions
    #27167794 - 01/24/21 06:34 PM (3 years, 3 days ago)

I'm looking for a solution to keeping my PC tower off the floor where I can run cables underneath.  Something like a little table to keep in a few inches off the carpet like this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MCVUDKM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1

It needs to be large and sturdy enough to hold a case that's 9.5" x 21-22" that probably weights 40+ lbs. Side note: I ordered the above item, but it got damaged in shipping and was returned.

Suggestions?

If the grips on the bottom of the case aren't too wide, setting the case on four PVC pipe fittings has worked well for me.

Sounds like a case of 'whatever is on hand will do just fine'. Don't overthink it. Like you said, a simple table will do fine.

Btw, it's certainly a good idea to get your pc tower from the floor, especially if the floor is carpeted. With the airflow in a typical pc case, there's a lot of accumulation of dust and lint on fans and heatsinks.

After uploading this image I clicked on the link in your post and realized that you already knew about monitor stands as an option.  I'll leave the image up anyway.

I'd say just look for another monitor stand* as it's the best solution other then using random objects to lift your case off the floor.  *I probably wouldn't get one with a glass base though.
