Would you guys know if mushrooms require a certain PH of water when misting? Or adding nutrients similar when you water weed crops?

To mist your mycelium with tap or spring water, first you have to have mycelium.

So I tried a PF tek recipe from the book "The Psilocybin Mushroom Bible" and the ingredients called for: - 1/4 pint wide mouth mason jar - 60ml vermiculite(4tbsp) - 30ml brown rice flour (2tbsp) - 27.5g water (1/8 cup) - 1/4 tsp gypsum - 1/4 tbsp instant coffee - 1cc of liquid spore syringe
And this was inoculated on 10/20/2020 and colonized very little before becoming contaminated and then stayed like that until now. I realized that I sterilized them, submerged in boiling water. When the water shouldn't have been touching any part as the steam is what does the work supposed. I guess patience is a virtue, in regards to learning it properly before wasting my liquid spores.
My question for you guys though is if this recipe the book gave me is solid or not? Thanks in advance!
