I tried josex BRF puck TEK and so far it's working great. I got a really stubborn GT syringe to finally germinate with it and the PE growing on it looks healthy. I'll give an update later today (and on josex thread) when I transfer some myc to agar

Yea I’ve done streaks, dunks, pieces if swab buried ect. Everyone has their enigma and ape is mine. It looks like I have some viable myc in my first pic I had posted. I’m semi confident I can get it looking good. I just need to make sure I keep it going with clones.

This is from a second flush of B+, but it definitely looks like a different type (multi spore syringe)
Can anyone identify?

First Monotub-harvest since 2017. Its B+ Multispore, around 1:4 cvg rye Tub with Agar T1-T2, haven't expected that it works that well. Box seems to be healthy, no sign of contamination for my novice-eye.
What do u guys think? Is 245g a decent result for multispore? Hope in the second flush I'll get some beautiful clusters or bigger shrooms to get way better amounts of fruits.

That CANNOT be a 66qt mono. It looks like a mini mono but still... I can pull 245g wet off a shoebox and i dont even have good cultures. Id keep hunting if thats your question
But hey.. you got some mush! Congratz Thats fruit in hand baby! Coulda picked them a tad later for extra weight but they look nice. Not too hollow from the looks 👍🏽

Definitely doesnt look clean. Have you ran those before?
I have had zero luck with ape swabs germinating. I’ve burned through like 5 sets some from very trusted cultivators. A buddy gave me a squirt of a spore syringe on agar. What grew looked pretty suspect, did a hot pour on that plate and took the best looking of what grew through. This is t2 pictured. I just did another hot pour on the first plate. It doesn’t look as bad, will keep at this sum bitch till I can finally get a viable ape culture. Even if I have to let a iffy shoebox go till I get a fruit to clone.
APE swabs to agar was always a tough nut to crack for me too. I got some from not so trusted cultivators at the time and all I got was bacteria. The third link in my sig is what I do (scroll down till the very end of the tek). I don't care to plug anything, it really works very well for stubborn and/or dirty swabs.
I remember sending you a few ape swabs haha. Anything ever come of them?

Wasn't thinking about you when I said "not so trusted" lol, you were trusted back then too in my book.
Yeah I got some kewl reverts from your swab at the time, you must have seen them. That's all I was ever able to get from APE swabs, reverts, some of them really cool. If you can spare some bucks to buy a syringe from sw, do it. Swabs are a bit of a gamble.

A.k.a said: Hot pour is when you pour a thin layer of agar ontop of a bacterial plate. Then the idea is the myc will grow through to the surface and the bacteria will be stuck.
This is my first gourmet bag, king oyster. Not sure when to cut the bag down and fruit it but it looks about ready.

Some oyster spawn wanting to get out.

Black pearl tub about to go to fruiting.

Then yesterday i realized I could put these magnetic lights on the hood. If I put these higher or of too the sides of where I’m working will it cause problems?

Let the King oysters top pin/fruit before cutting the bag. I often let them get a couple of inches tall before I cut the bag down to cap height and place in the greenhouse.
onlyone I got left..but it seems to work ok!

I've got an impostor in my LGT!
Funny enough, the first flush was all leucistic, but for the second flush I've got a few brown-capped reverts. The big one would be tempting to clone, but I pinched the stipe, and he feels hollow AF

From the man himself:
Quote:
Workman said: I'm guessing that the black specks are normal colored spores which occasionally occur in albino strains. When this happens it is usually on just a few gills and not the entire mushroom. Normally, any fruits with black spores are rejected but it is possible that a few made it past quality control. No charcoal in any case.
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24186096#24186096
It's all about careful selection. That's why you are almost guaranteed to grow real APE from a syringe but not from swabs taken by someone who likely doesn't know any better.
Apparently this happens with any true albino, they do produce the rogue dark spores if they're not stable enough and these may grow reverts. The forum is littered with cases of people growing reverts from swabs taken from albino fruits, they just go unnoticed most of the times. Last case I saw was from a yeti grow (from a swab too) by roarkell. Mind you, even the guy who created yeti posts some grows on FB where you can see some reverts growing alongside real yeti fruits.
Currently I'm running some tests on this too. I took a yeti fruit myself with the whitest gills possible and I took spores from it using an inoculation loop, as to limit the area as much as possible. I have some of this yeti on grains as we speak, almost ready to spawn, can't wait to see what I'll get.

24 hours since last pic (I think). RW from MS.
Tubside pin goin' hambone! RW from MS.
First flush of LPEU. Not too extremely terrible, I think the spawn was slightly bacterial. I need to get some agar going and clone one of these, buuuut I also have clone material already going from a mini tray I made with 2qts, and other plates going...Might just skip it.
Sporeless B+ tub.

Its 22l - Started with 22l boxes because I had not such a good PC and also just "okay" skills, so I don't waste big boxes. And the 22l boxes were on sale für 50% less so I bought around 20 or so, not sure haha.

That was my first jar of a stone producer and I almost chucked it a few times. Still not sure I would eat anything that comes out of it, cool looking though. Next time I'll just spawn it and see if I get stones that way.
