AA+ is one that I keep in rotation, it is pretty slow to colonize and fruit. You can speed that up by cloning one of the larger, faster maturing fruits from your tub. Put a sample to agar, clean, inoculate, and repeat a few times. You'll find that you end up with more aggressive mycelial growth, even pin sets/full canopies, and larger fruiting bodies.

Going to be doing this with some of my larger AA+ fruits that I did a spore print from a harvest that was ohh about...coming up on almost 4 years ago lmao  :sporedrop: I'll see how that goes and if I can hydrate the spores enough, transfer to agar and see if it will germ and clean up from there. Thinking about making a lil write up on my journey of trying to germ all my older spores, I also have a few different species in syringes that are about 4 years old. All stored at room temp in a sealed storage tub.

My albino a+ tub colonized for about 10 days before introducing fruiting conditions. It has now been about 10 days in fruiting conditions..Now I have lots of prior experience but I haven’t ran into such a slower rate of growth with my tubs before this strain. Now I know that all cubes is strains have the same potential as others, but I don’t know if albinos are slow or what. I figured I’d post pics and get some feed back since I have yet to see any tiny primordia. however, if I am seeing what I’ve seen before in my experience, it seems like the hyphal knots are beginning to populate the tub. I appreciate the help!

OP, had the same experience with AA+, very slow but worth the wait!

Been two days since my last post and I'm still waiting.. it seems that in some areas some of the mycelial growth is beginning to come to a head like it does when the primordial begins to form. However, its hard to tell if its really moving in the right direction or not..Im getting a bit concerned lol. Another thing to think about; I created aa+ LC from a MS syringe, it was healthy mycelial growth and no signs of contams whatsoever in the LC. Could there possibly be a bacterial infection, one that I'm not able to see/smell?

I have ran a lot of aa+ over the past year. It's slow. Very slow compared to my Thai lipa yai and Burma. It's not a true Albino. Luecistic. Sometimes you get all tan fruits. Others you can get the white fruits. I have noticed mine were more likely to be pale if using light on the blue end of the spectrum.

As long as there isn't funk and the substrate has plenty of moisture just give it time. They'll fruit unless it's a genetic issue.

Got anything specific to look for in terms of moisture content not being sufficient? I know that there needs to be a few droplets collected on the substate, but are there any other indicators? Also, how common is it to have a genetic issue that inhibits fruiting?

The walls of the tub should have some condensation. Did you case? Easiest way to create perfect moisture content.

Genetics like that aren't a common occurrence but I've had it happen from isolation I was working with to get an eventual monoculture. Which absolutely isn't necessary. I just was because why not,

I put my second or third agar transfer into fruiting conditions and fruit from the agar then take the clone from it. Guaranteed aggressive culture that should yield evenly and strong.

I did like a "pseudo" casing. It's where you mix all myourspawn/sub then add another layer of sub which would be the casing and then put into consolidation. I forgot on this tub I wanted to case when it was completely colonized and then wait about 2 days and then put into fruiting because I have had success with that. For some reason this AA+ just had me second guessing what I've done so many times because of it's slow growth. I had 3 shoeboxes going, fully colonized and everything that I tossed out before this tub because I thought they were stalled.

I don't add extra sub. I use 1 to 1.5. I mix (I have specific ph I use because of past trich issues with the environment available to me. 7.4 except the last inch or so of substrate and it's 7.8 typically. After I remove from colonization I add vermiculite about a cm at 8.0 but coir and verm are neutral ph and it's not required).

You want no nutrition in the casing layer. Vermiculite is my favorite but plenty others available. It just helps create that surface conditions you need. You can fruit without casing on aa. I can't successfully fruit cubensis without it. But many do. Trial and error definitely. If you run into a lot of frustration step back from this particular variety and get a domesticated fast one like z strain or Thai lipa yai. Get the confidence back and time to reevaluate your approach. I am doing that with APE. Only had minimal success and pissed off at the time invested. So I'm running atl 7 and z st

Very relatable reply bro haha.. Ive been planning on getting some Burma literally for the intention of reevaluating my procedure. Do I have a good chance of fruit on this tub you think? just by pics I've posted previously

Consider Thai lipa yai over Burma. It's been domesticated well for fast and strong colonization. Very aggressive and gorgeous flushes. I have an affinity for the Thailand varieties.

I just got my first almost canopy of large AA+, feels pretty good because tbh these things are the strongest I have ever encountered. I swear I have aliens growing lol.

I have 8 aa+ bro half-pint jars that will be ready tomorrow to add to my sub and begin colonizing. Same size tub everything, is there any recommendations on how i should go about this, specific to the aa+?

I use WBS not brf but the way I've seen BRF put to tubs is crumble well, mix, light layer of verm and mist. Don't forget to dunk before spawning.

wrong brf/pf tek need no dunk if your spawning to bulk as the substrate will provide the needed moisture.

I personally don't birth cakes to bulk. They are designed for ms inoculation and less than perfect condition. Designed to learn how to grow for the beginner and make cultivation widely available. But you increase your chances of getting funk. Many do it with success but if I can fuck something up I will. I use whole oats from the feed store. And a little millet for more inoculate points and nutrition diversity. In a pinch regular popcorn. And gypsum. Even in my brf cakes I use gypsum.

If you are going to spawn to bulk I personally use 30 to 35% coir, 60%horse shit and a little bit of vermiculite and gypsum in the substrate. I sterilize my shit separate from the other ingredients which get the bucket tek. Then mix together when I spawn. Put in colonization for 10 or more days. When I put in the fruiting chamber I case with a cm of vermiculite. Close the chamber plug a line feeding fog and fresh o2 on a cycle and don't unseal or open until ready for harvest of first flush. I try to leave them alone as much as possible.

Literally all of my mono tub grows have been brf cakes shredded for spawn. Have never had any contam problem. Ive maybe had one jar tossed this whole year not to mention none of my tubs have suffered from contamination(ever). I am a very precise person, perfectionist if you will; I rely on consistency and proper techniques and I have always benefitted from that with the mushrooms.. So you can see why I am so disheveled about this XD
