That said, there is nothing wrong whatsoever with calling out the direction America is now taking. The left is totally sold on this idea that anybody who is opposed to them is a literal Nazi who deserves a bullet between the eyes, which couldn't be further from the truth, but the truth apparently no longer matters since the country has gone completely insane. And that is an extremely dangerous position to take because it can only lead to violence and civil unrest when such insane beliefs become commonly held, as they are now. And we have the mainstream media and their backers, who have deliberately provoked these divisions & false truths in a desperate attempt to get rid of Trump, to thank for this.

This is written like you’ve only read about “leftists” and never actually met one.

This is projection- and I’ve seen a lot of this from the Trumpeteers. You dare speak about the dangerous position that misinformation puts us in? Too rich Chopstick, too rich

The right is totally sold on the idea that everyone of the left is a communist. The red scare is still alive and well.

On a side note, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was the top selling video game of 2020.

That's what I'm thinking.
However, after further research, it seems onions may be useful in alleviating pain/symptoms of tear gas if exposed... which if true, means that this girl KNEW BEFOREHAND that they were going to be attacking the capital and causing violence.

They aren't. That's a myth popularized by Palestinians that were dealing with Israeli tear gas in the 80s. There aren't any easily available cures for tear gas apart from flushing with water. If she was planning ahead, she would have come across much more effective tear gas prevention methods.

Notably, most governments are extremely touchy about experimenting with ways to reduce the effects of tear gas, and even more touchy about civilians finding out.

Putin is a far better leader than Trump, Obama, or any other president the US has fielded in decades. The only one that comes close in recent memory would be John F Kennedy, and he was murdered by the CIA before getting to fulfill his role.

What do you feel makes Putin a far better leader than all presidents we have had over the last 50 years?  I agree that US leadership has been quite awful for a while now but Putin freaks me out, the little I know about him..

If you don’t want to be labeled a qanon cult member, probably shouldn’t be talking about Kennedy like that. That’s a core part of their religion.

Yes, it is.  Calling Chopstick a QAnon follower, when he doesn't follow QAnon is an outright lie.

If you wanted to be honest, you could say QAnon believes some of the same things, just like you could say Putin is against American empire.  But don't call him a QAnon follower if he's not.  And don't call me a Putin lover just because I don't believe in American empire.

Sure, let's just make believe things about our opposition instead of discussing the argument itself.

My impression is that some subset of Qanon lore may have no earlier origin than Qanon, while other components were borrowed from pre-existing conspiracy lore. Someone who believes things that were first forwarded via the Qanon online personality could be argued to be a Qanon follower in at least an indirect sense, even if they don't think of themselves in that way. Whether the overlap between chopstick's beliefs and Qanon mythology includes some beliefs that originated uniquely with Qanon I couldn't say though, I don't keep up with this stuff that closely.

So if it walks on two legs (like a duck), then it must be a duck?

Did you ever consider that some ideas may be shared by more than one organization independently?  Like being anti-American imperialism?

That's the thing though: If you were one of those tiny little villages that had their little village god that got co-opted by Hinduism, you became a Hindu. That was half the selling point, your local deity got adopted as a minor deity in the Hindu pantheon.

Qanon spreads somewhat similarly, expect instead of military force, they find disaffected people within established conspiracy communities and adopt them.

It is entirely reasonable to assume that a member of one of those co-opted groups is a Qanon now. Further, choppy, as well as bunch of right wing "thinkers" (Ben Shapiro is a great example) love to paint "all the left" with the actions of a few individuals. Seems perfectly reasonable to do the same to "all the right", no?

Unless the argument once again comes down to different sets of rules for different people. In which case, admit it.

If there were a few isolated Q references, this might be a reasonable argument. When nearly every post from the last few months is some Q bullshit, it's not.

Of course, I remember you arguing a little while back that Hitler was not responsible for the Holocaust because there was no evidence of a letter ordering the Holocaust signed by Hitler, so... Why am I even paying attention to you?

Roles. That’s another qanon thing. The key characters in qanon mythology have predestined roles.

You don’t have to be actively consuming Qanon content. MAGA has been thoroughly infused with much of the orthodoxy at this point.

Source, or make believe?

I guarantee you won't find where I said anything like "Hitler was not responsible for the Holocaust because there was no evidence of a letter ordering the Holocaust signed by Hitler".  That's why you should start paying attention to what I actually say.

What I actually said was:
Quote:

Falcon91Wolvrn03 said:
I think the holocaust happened and I think there's PLENTY of evidence that to prove that it did, but I'm also saying that Paul Craig Roberts may have been correct in saying that they never found the German plans.

Even Nonagon admitted this was correct.

I spend WAY too much time PROVING people lie about me.

If you spent as much time analyzing your position as you spend moving goalposts, maybe I'd take your protestations to the contrary seriously.

After all, I am not Nonagon. And when you say "well, maybe the guy arguing that Hitler wasn;t responsible for the Holocaust was correct", I take that as tacit approval for that viewpoint. Even when you try to say he was incorrect in the same sentence.

When you say something like "I think the sky is blue, but I also think this guy who's saying the sky is orange might be right", I no longer believe that you think the sky is blue.
