Here’s another flat of melmak 118
...
The last one I pictured threw 1300g wet from 1 quart spawn and 1.25 gal coco.

That’s a damn dinner plate!
My shoebox mess of a tub is not colonized enough to hold up the weight of the fruits. They’re starting to fall off and harvest themselves early. I’m going to give them a day or two since they’re slightly attached still, but I don’t expect much

That is a nice take from a quart of spawn. Be proud man, I would. My 118 shoots 2 solid flushes and is actually slightly more productive in 2 than my TP as with it I get the bulk 1st flush & the sub is dusted.

Thank you very much. I will attach some pride to the outcome when its consistent
That's bad ass. I haven't had a chance to grow the TP isolate yet. My friend blessed me with this culture to get my training wheels basically. I think that we are ready to take them off and unleash the kraken. I'm leaving the tray to see if it'll throw a second flush but it looked pretty spent.

Did another seed flat Harvest tonight and the wet yield was 1281g from 1 qt spawn to 5 qts coco in a 10x20x2 tray.

What kind of grain are you guys getting these weights from? Are the fruits like 97% water?
These yields are insane for one quart.

Sounds like a lot of sub volume in those dimensions too.

Let me help you with some volumetric math.
10”x20”x2” = 400 ci , you multiply by .004 to convert cubic inches to gallons, which gives the tray 1.6 gallon capacity. 1 quart grain spawn and 5 quarts coco fills the tray to the brim as depicted.
—
Now that I have had 2 trays yield within 50g of each other I will do a 24 tray experiment. I will use the same melmak118 culture again.
I believe it is possible to grow a dry pound in a 2x4 area with 4 qts spawn.

Should be quite possible. I average 1.7 lbs on a 2×3 shelf with 5.5 full quarts spawn in 11 bags or 2 66 mono's. Actually the mono's yeild 10 to 20% less utilizing the same space, spawn & sub. My ambient enviorment is less than ideal & find an unacceptable loss on tubs post 1st flush.
I recently spawned some bags at 1 to 12 to see how far i can stomp my dope.. man they are colonizing slow as expected but if it tacks on a week the tale of the scale + potency will become a point of focus in viability.

Can you briefly outline your fruiting in the bag method?
Are you preparing a pasteurized substrate in a bulk container and then mixing the substrate with grain spawn in a sealed bag that you just leave alone and it fruits?
Do you pasteurize the substrate in the bag you’re going to fruit in let it cool then spawn the grain to it?

From experience with bags it's good to find a culture that performs will with a little higher than normal CO2. So requires work. However if you got a culture that works like Buddas, damn. Double damn.

Weird shit going on with all my tissue samples to agar from the various MM fruits.
They seem to have all turned to jelly, translucent. Very odd, all the RW tissue clones I took and Averys that day had zero problems but the MM across four different fruits has turned weird. The plates look clean but the tissue don't.
Should probably try to get pictures.

The further down the Mak hole i tumble the more she continues to amaze me.
Tired as shit and am seeing this popping up more & more from a culture I have run multiple times last year & never saw.
Not sure if sporeless or albino. Swabbed & cloned. No visible spore deposit on swabs just blue staining. Will get em under the scope when I get back home & see if spores present.
Kinda weird as I have never seen this in this particular culture until now after 6 month cold storage & a hidden bacteria in the culture I have since cleaned. This is my a culture I isolated out from MS TP that is a solid producer open cap bumpy stem.
Thoughts ?

What would you guys say the potency or melmac is. I'm currently working of 3 different melmac swabs. 2 normal melmac from 2 different people and one melmac TP

Totally depends. Mine look the look just perfectly but potency wise they are pretty standard shroom. About on par with my Rustys. Im sure some peoples are bomb. Im going to ditch what I got and re-swipe.
