There's some fancy cutting\grinding going on there for sure.
Nearly done with my wife's fireplace. The biggest PITA was extending the HVAC duct work that was on the existing wall. Bonus was it gave me a reason to buy a nail gun.

That’s crazy, I’ve got plans on doing something like that with a wood burning stove!! Luckily all my ductwork is in the crawlspace so I just have to make my chimney stack come out the roof. That’s on a long list of things to get done around here, it’s never ending! Farm life is great they said!

Haha hidden rooms is a great idea. The TV sits flush since the mount is recessed but its on a full motion arm with a huge cavity back there. Enough for plenty of poundage with easy access.

My entire op is behind a false wall thats spring loaded... lol. Definitely my favorite part of the house... that, and I wired my dart board and light all together to a switch in the ceiling... I do a little Mario hop where he hits the coin box and the light and board come on and the board starts playing the intro music... I was pretty proud of that too... lol

that's a pretty sweet wall! I dig it man!
secret rooms lol. there is a house in town that a friend grew up in, it had a secret door, that led to a secret ladder, that then led up to a crawl space in the second floor and then up into a glass dome on the roof. Im guessing the dome was originally accessed in other ways or was just a skylight and at some point they did work.
Yea that exhaust looks like a pain lol. the angle does not matter, but getting the holes sized up correctly and everything would suck. the other alternative is this.

or something close to it. that is where the factory charges $3000+ to put the "sports exhaust" valve and bypass in. although this bypass only bypasses 2 of the 3 muffler chambers.

This is great. I’ll just drop a few pics here. See why I’m called tankie...
Built a water tank near the house and got the kid out there to see what dad does.
Seismic upgrades to a water tower, before bump out
 Bump out tacked in
 Installed, overhead welded out
Digester lid. Stainless skirt to carbon roof
Some sketchy ladder overhead edit: had it labeled stainless to carbon, but it’s just carbon on that insert.
 Some more sketchy ladder shit.

Cool stuff Tankie. Thats earning tour paycheck for sure. I wouldn't trade blue collar work for anything.
I've had times in my life where I was pissed that my Dad split so I didn't have anyone to smack me into going to college. Then I think fuck that I wouldn't want it any other way.

It’s a wild ride man, I feel ya on the dad splitting stuff. Right there with ya.
And Roar, I can’t even compare to your TIG skills. I was getting close and then I started building tanks. Lots of 6010, flux core, and jet rod (3/16” 7024)

Y’all wanna talk about gettin dirty, you ever cleaned a cooling tower? Hahah I take my spare waders with me so I don’t get soaked with the pressure washer....fell in the sump today, edge came a little quicker but I came out of it quick like a bearded mermaid! Sketchy ladder times are always good stories though for sure! Those water towers you working on are some big heights!

Industrial processes use big ass cooling towers, swamp cooler(for you desert yetis)but way fucking bigger! All the mildews and concretia dust and all the shit that the fans pull into it with the air....basically cools the process water or condenser water for the water cooled chillers.

Ahh... cuz I've done all sorts of process piping and things of that nature... anything liquid filled is always fun to repair!

New R&P and locker should be delivered tomorrow!

Hahahaha... bread in the pipe! My boss tried to get me to do that... I told him if he couldn't afford the equipment it takes to purge pipe, he couldn't afford a welder to do it either! Lmao
