POLL: Do you incubate your jars?

Do you incubate your jars?
I've seen a lot of threads where people mention that they simply leave their jars in a drawer or a box or something and they colonize relatively quickly. If you don't incubate them, how long does it usually take for you?

Wow. Grow up.
Of course there is an incubation period. What he meant was do you use an incubator(something to regulate temperature) or just put them somewhere and forget about them. I would suggest using an incubator because it speeds up colonization time.

hehehehe come on take it easy.......... I did my lasts pints just left them in the box and forgot about them. Room temps around 72-76. Prolly 3 weeks till first one finished, others followed up to about 7 weeks for last one. I would say at least half finished right around 4 weeks. But I am building an incubator tub-in-tub for my next project................. I will update with the difference.
But heres the thing those took a while to pin...... There is not really a temp difference. I think you need to dunk and cold shock in a fridge if you dont use an incubator, otherwise it provides the temperature drop. It may speed up pinning.

oh well
so.....
Instead of being mature you went ahead and wrote another idiotic post.
Obviously Toad857 knows what incubation is and how different people go about keeping their colonizing substrate during this period. Hence the poll about wether most people use an inccubator or just put in a closet. He was seeking knowledge on a subect and you have the nerve to write derogative comment about it????

Toad857's poll was not about the incubation period. It was about how people choose to store their jars during this period. And yes you can leave jars in a closet during this period if the conditions are right.
So, I'll say it again..... Grow up, kid.

you seem to be doing all of the bitching, why sweat it its small stuff... maybe the walrus misinterpreted your comment based on your misinterpretation of the original post
so how old are you if you have so many years on an unknown person, maybe if you go through your ratings and read carefully you can begin to understand why there is alot of people flaming you.... since you are the big drug kingpin I'll never understand why you post here anyway

gotta reccomend tub-in-tub, it'll be especially worth the investment when its no longer warm weather and ambient weather in the room goes down. i did it without a tub-in-tub the first time and regretted it.

for me it comes down to space...an incubater would not hold as many jars as I like to have going so I just use the closet since they colonize fine in there

When I started I use to not use a incubator. Now it's this thing. I use two of these heaters.
Now quart jars finish in 6 to 9 days at the most

Man, on my first time i didn't use an incubator. I just put the jars back in the box, put it on one of my racks in my closet, put a few boxes underneath the rack it was on, put a heat lamp on the boxes facing it up and mingled with the boxes to get the temperature of the box to stay at 83 degrees F! It worked pretty good.
