Cloning, spore prints and Agar

I'm starting to think about being able to continue growing without having to buy spores. Only on my first grow, pf cakes to shoebox. No sign of fruits yet but i'm hopeful! So,cloning is different to taking spore prints? And both can be done to agar? Can you recommend a simple tek for doing these please?

I've not tried myself yet, but I have found this helpful in the learning process:

i prefer cloning fruits that are mature so i have an idea of what im getting. thats done by taking a inner tissue sample and putting it to agar. prints are usually taken on foil. but there is a million pages of information on both subjects. simply just use the search engine in the upper right and do some reading and see what u like. also check out the getting started page. lots of very good info there

Ok, i'm trying to get to grips with it all.
When i prepare the Agar Pasty Plates i can either swab a spore print and rub it onto the agar or i can split a mushroom and take a piece from the inside of the mushroom and add it to the agar preparation. Is this the basic of it all?
What about agar substitute tek with brf? Is this a good option or is the pasty plate one better? Thanks

Thanks, Actually the substitute agar tek i was referring to was https://www.shroomery.org/8514/Agar-substitute Although this has been inoculated with spore syringe! Would this one work for cloning or spore print method?

I initiate pinning on the agar plate and grow the fruit body then clone it on new agar. Guarantees that the culture will likely be an aggressive fruiter. It's easiest if you use a quarter pint Mason jar to initiate a fruit. Within three weeks you have a strong culture that's totally yours.
