Tricky ID request: maybe cyan -- Bay Area
    #27146439 - 01/13/21 08:45 PM (9 days, 23 hours ago)

Well, at least it's tricky for me. Normally when I find actives it's abundantly obvious, but I'm having some trouble with this one.

I pulled these from a deeply chipped bed in SF Bay Area.

As the photos show, they check a lot of the boxes. Most notably, they seem to be printing a deep purple on adjacent caps (I'm doing a proper print now), and they also seem to have light blue bruising. However, the bruising is very minimal, and I'm not seeing any on the stipe whatsoever. Additionally, the stipe is more yellow/orange than I'd expect.

Those are not actives, I see those all the time in mulch beds that otherwise would have alleni/cyans.  Interestingly enough though I always find those very near alleni/cyan patches so keep checking in that area!

The last pic is interesting though with that spot, but I'd bet its spore deposit or environmental damage.

Maybe some bleached out Leratiomyces ceres.
Strange the last pic does look to have blue bruising but maybe I’m not seeing it right.

I'd Say The Coloring On The Cap (Last Pic) Is Spore Deposits. Could Be Environmental Damaged As Stated Above.

On The Right Of The 2nd Pic, A Worm Can Be Seen Trying His Best To Climb On Top Of One Of The Mushroom Caps

I'm pretty sure these are a species of Hypholoma, the bruising appears blackish instead of bluish. Definitely purple spore deposits on the cap.

Incidentally, these were in fact found very near an allenii patch that I found about a month ago (they aren't flushing now -- seems like the only go once per season.)

Here's the proper print. So where on earth did those purple spores came from?

The bruising is definitely blue in person. But you're right that it just doesn't have the correct look.

Looks like Galerina spore prints

Could be,  the cap just looks like it's to smooth/bald for pholiota as well as the spores being brighter than what I normally see with pholiota, but that's just my own experience with the Genus, I'm not saying it's not possible.

Gill spacing seems too distant to be Pholiota. Spore print looks dingy brown. Maybe Agrocybe pediades?
