I would if I could. Four gallons was the biggest I could find bulk for a reasonable price.

So what went wrong here?! First tub from B+ clone things looked good until they don’t. Obviously something is amiss. They didn’t mature big, I tried doing a pseudo casing not sure but ALMOST a total fail

Super compromised spawn, bruv. I'd wager that you didn't clean your clone culture, either way though, bad spawn.

Bacteria from the looks of it. Also trich. Slime mold too. That tub is gonna turn real green soon. You should pick those and toss that tub m8.

Ok gonna use this as a learning opportunity for myself. If I understanding what I think I, the uncolonized areas are signs of bacterial contams and the extra puffy bits trich before it goes green What are the visual queues of the slime mold?

So if the spawn it looked good smelled good and had zero signs of contamination, is it possible that it happened after spawning the tub? Hoping the other one doesn’t follow suit👎🏽 Thinking I have it in my environment and it’s contaminated the tubs, the below tub is the 2nd clone tub from same clone better job at the pseudo casing

By pseudo casing you mean a top layer of sub, right?

Yes, people didn’t like my exposed grains last time tried this route in plans of someday trying PE and word on the street I need to master the casing part first... I’m an FNG the below was my first tubs exposed grains but they did well, MS to grain seems to treat me better

Ok, so that trich is pretty evenly spread. If that was a true casing I would say that you fucked up the pasteurization, but if that's just coir it doesn't readily contaminate like that on it's own, so the culprit would have been bacterial spawn. Bacteria can be sneaky and it will weaken the mycelium so that competitors like trich can take hold. The sheer scope of that trich infection covers nearly every inch of your surface, it tells me that your spawn was bad.
It can be difficult to spot bad spawn at times especially early on in your learning curve.

some portions are visually darker and look overhydrated. Like slime was covering that area. You should read up on the blight that almost took the Irish population from us.

I don't see slime mold, that shit is super obvious and not a common contamination...as far as I know anyways, I've only ever seen it outdoors.

Thanks, live and learn! I thought that the dark area was just a deeper layer of sub I topped with, definitely a better job on the second tub getting it even coverage, guess time will tell on the next one, I’ll keep you posted, still learning.

You don't need to worry about the area of your sub without visible trich,I mean, trich will definitely be everywhere. Your issue is most definitely your spawn.
