Try the sponsors forum. Or right below the ad banner it says 'please support our sponsors'
Click that and a page of sponsors will show up.

how is each disc good for 8 jars? I would have thought that each disc is used with 1 jar. Do we slice each disc into 8ths??

I do this. I use gasket sealer from a hardware store. Costs like $4 and will do 100+ jars.
I used a dime coin to trace out a bunch of circles on the disc then cut.

What he said...
You can make like 150 lids out of 10 synthetic filter discs. I recommend a sponsor or check out ebay.

Ok, I see now.
I have just gone and ordered 100 90mm SFDs and 30 70mm SFDs........
Once these arrive I might sell them on ebay or maybe here via the classifieds..if I am allowed to do that.
Oh.. and the reason I ordered so much?? It can be such a pain getting stuff shipped from across the pond to Europe that I may as well get as much as I can sent over in one go.

Looks like you don't sand the lids before applying the sealant... I take it I can skip that step without issues in the future?

I wouldn't skip that step if you have the time. There's nothing worse than a filter popping off because the silicone couldn't properly adhere.

I use gasket sealer, idk if it's silicon. I didn't sand them.

I don't trust micropore because I can see tiny little holes in it when I tear off a strip and hold it up to the light.

fwiw, I use EZ-Felt discs and clear caulk, on both plastic and metal lids. It's perfect even after dozens of washings - no contam whatsoever, no wear. Dirt cheap, inconspicuous, ready to go, works.

I'd be happy to support sponsors, as long as they are competitive and provide a good service. Unfortunetly, I have not yet come across ones here that are!!!
One of the sponsors (will not name them) sent me contaminated kits, kits that did not produce anything. and when I told them that the item arrived contaminated they told me that the blue stuff was psilocybin!!! I have email after email with the, and I ended up wasting a load of cash and time. Never want to do business with them again.
Another sponsor told me to inoculate grain bags and keep them at 27 Deg C. All of them ended up with Trich and had to be thrown away.
Don't mean to rant but I do not wish to do business with people that have questionable business practices. Whether they are a sponsor or not here.

The best and easiest ones I’ve found so far are the ones from Microppose. I’ve been using the SHIPs also, peel and stick can’t beat that.
