Surface not colonising 100% before fruiting

Iv been getting pins forming when the surface isnt even close to 100% colonised. 7-10 days in and im seeing knots form on the coir which isnt fully white.
The pins sets are still decent and the tubs life is still ok but im wondering if my top layer is to dry? Or if there bacteria present or something thats forcing it to fruit asap?
Anyone ever have this?

How thick of a top layer? I feel like it's relatively common to see pins before the top layer is fully colonized when it's put on thicker

If the top layer isn't level and/or the thickness isn't the same, that's pretty normal. Got any pics?

Sorry no pics at this time.
could be the top layer being to thick. Usually make it half inch thick.
And super super level cause it bothers me when its not lol

Here is a pic of a tub pinning. Surface not even close to a full colonisation.
But it seems like the top layer acts as a decent casing either way.

Are there draw backs to a thicker "psuedo casing"
I have been getting alot of aborts, although I think that was due to lack of fae.

half inch, potentially more in some spots. No fucks were givin lol.
But Alot of tubs i see that come in like this dont reach full potential and alot of fruits abort.
Is aborting a symptom of low fae cuz I think the whole room was choked off. ( as per my other thread about strange fruit formation and hollow stems )
I recently just installed a fan that pulls cool outdoor air right in the grow room and will put it on a timer to air exchange the room out of co2 every hour for a couple minutes duration.
Or lack of any half decent lighting could be the cause? idk
