Too wet ?
    #27116917 - 12/30/20 07:04 PM (3 years, 1 month ago)

They are maturing early and I think its due to over saturated casing layer as they have so fuzzy feets , I am not spraying water but it doesn't fix them !
I'm using plane verm for the casing layer, I think its not a good choice because it retains water religiously and doesnt allow for evaporation from the casing thus I had soo many side and bottom pins cause the evaporation could happen there easier !
So will it fix for the second flush if I dont spray the casing layer anymore ?

How long have they been like that?

A verm casing isn't going to cause tiny fruits. It could be a plethora of things. Maybe the water content of your substrate was too dry (or way wet) and that big ass chamber isn't helping for such small cakes. How did you make those trays? Explain what you did a bit so maybe we can draw some conclusions. Bacteria and genetics can also give you tiny ass shrooms

This is the day 8 since the first pin appeared.
I dont think my sub was too dry cause I can see fuzzy feets
But my casing was indeed over saturated. It was the right content but I gave it a really heavy mist before introducing the fruiting environment and I think that is the cause
If the chamber is too big I should have drying problems yes ? But it doesn't seem so !

but on the other hand there are some dark headed pins in the middle that look dry !
I'm confuseeeed are my trays too wet and too dry at the same time ?! 😄

Whatever, but a casing won't cause that no matter if it was a bit wet. I was just asking you to clarify your process as I think this is crucial to determine what's up. You still didn't answer and apparently know what's up so I'll see myself out. Good luck on your next grow.

For one, get rid of the nastiness and bump up the fae. I bet there isn't adequate gas exchange.

Yes I also felt like that, at first I was running with 7×1.5inch  holes (one on top of the lid) and my lid also doesnt seal the chamber. With micropore on them.
But later on added 6 new holes and replaced the micro with very loose poly

I should also say that today I was getting ready for a new tray and I realised that I'm losing some of the moisture during sub pasteurization leaving me with a dry sub but I didnt check the field capacity before spawning last time I did that tray.
But on the other hand they have fuzzy feet and it looks like being too wet !
Maybe the dry sub caused the co2 to build up BC water evaporation helps air circulation and especially since my trays have edges longer than the sub level it also helps the co2 to build up at the sub surface ?

High humidity will cause fuzzy feet, not necessarily over Hydration.

Of course, and I really misted the casing too much at first
I've also heard that insufficient oxygen or too much co2 at the surface would cause the myc to climb up the stems to reach to more oxygen!
