Wavy Cap-ish Mushroom in Southern California
    #27138799 - 01/09/21 11:47 PM (3 years, 18 days ago)

Habitat:
At the base of an orange tree in a backyard in Suburban Brea. The tree is well fertilized and paper shreddings are used as well for it.

Gills:
Dark brown gills, attached. After picking seemed to darken more.

Stem:
White, 1.5 inch long, 1.5cm wide, fragile.

Cap:
Varied cap sizes from about .5 inch to an inch, light brown and then darkened to an ashier brown after picking. Wavy

Spore print color:
Very dark brown.

Bruising:
This is what makes me think it's not Wavy Cap. No bluish bruising on caps or stems.

Yeah unfortunately they're not. There'd definitely be blue bruising, also they'd definitely have a dark purple spore print, not brown
Bad info, sorry. Spore print can be dark brown to purple, so the color in this case matches but the fact that it isn't bruising means it's not wavies

First thing first, absolutely not active.

Could be Psathyrella sp.

Hard to tell since the pictures aren't exactly charmingly detailed or well focused.

Might look like some veil remnants on the cap surface in the second picture.

I guess these could be either Psathyrella, Leratiomyces or Agrocybe.

I can't tell,  but if I had to guess, I would say Agrocybe.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I apologize for the lack of detail in the pictures, this is my first time doing this! Will definitely get prints and get better pictures in the future. Still learnin'.
