PLEASE HELP! Really bad screw-up on monotubs

Hello everyone! My pet alien has been growing some cubes in monotubs using PhillyGoldenTeacher's CVG recipe for substrate and rye grainspawn. It's his first time and he thinks he screwed up pretty bad and needs help. The initial jars of spawn colonized through the jar 100%, being solid, white mycelium. It has been 30 days since colonization, 13 days since we did the initial casing and misting/fanning, and 4 since we removed most of the casing.
1. He followed North Spore's guide on YouTube for his monotubs, but it turns out that a few important details had been left out in that video. First of all, the person in the video put the low holes too high, and put too much polyfill. Thus, we are afraid the tub setup got messed up.
2. Aside from the monotub setup, what we are really worried about was what happened next. Exudate formed but he did not mist at all during this time and kept it in colonization temps. Afterwards, he put a 2 inch casing layer after multiple pins had formed. This is where we believe all of our problems came from (he killed the hyphae and primordia by smothering them in redundant casing).
Since the time the casing layer was put on until now, all his little guys have fuzzy bottoms and miniature growth, which indicates they were probably choked out by the casing/CO2 despite him misting them and fanning them for 2 minutes three times a day.
His proposed fix is to dunk the blocks (this should remove the remainder of the casing). We then plan to put them back in fruiting conditions and treat it like our second flush (our first was almost two WHOLE dry grams from 4 monotubs... representing a 0% yield).
It is also worth noting that we fear most of the pins were decapitated when clearing out the extra casing... My pet alien is a monster. If you all think my pet alien should do something else, or this is a good idea, we would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

One thing you should not do is add anymore water to this tub it looks like its drowning.

I think your pet alien should stop having you speak for him. Just say 'I'm growing a monotub and need help'
You're fucking with it too much. Why case it, then remove the casing? Casing isn't necessary for most cubes, but if you choose to do it you've already done it so leave it be. You're right that the fuzzy feet on the fruit indicates a lack of FAE (fresh air exchange) so you should make adjustments to your polyfill. Fanning will only dry your substrate out. Leave it out. A properly dialed in monotub doesn't requite fanning, which is the whole point of the 'set and forget' method.
Cheers, mate

Thanks for the info! I'll adjust the polyfill and stop messing with it. I'll keep an eye on this thread in case anyone else also has more advice.
May the caps keep you!

Yeah, I agree with the others soo far. Mono tub set ups are meant to be forgotten. No misting or fanning. It takes a min to figure how much FAE settings for your area. PE is about the only cube you will use a casing layer. That doesn't look like casing. That looks like coir, you'll get something, not as much as you could have but just let it chill. The walls look like you might need to take some poly out of those holes. SOME, but I dont know how long its been since you have misted. Patience is a MUST in this hobby, keep yourself busy with other aspects like agar.

That's refreshing to hear, I'll take a chill pill and wait for nature to take its course. That agar idea is pretty enticing

Eyyo, just wanted to send a quick update. You guys were right; we left it alone for a while and have gotten to the point where they're at about one per 4 square inches. No tubs brimming with a forest of stuff everywhere, but better than nothing. Looks like there are some pins forming again too, so hopefully those will turn out well. We got one Godzilla that we're gonna clone on agar, and hopefully that one will make some big boys
