Is this healthy mycelial growth? (agar dish)
    #27137385 - 01/09/21 10:40 AM (3 years, 19 days ago)

First somewhat successful transfer. The (I'm assuming) mycelium on the right wedge has grown really aggressively, but it's more transparent than that healthy vigorous white color I know mycelium to have. Will it improve over the course of multiple transfers or is it bad genetics?

Damn. But if it was, wouldn't the transfer wedge or the growth on the new plate have turned green by now?

Not necessarily. Sometimes it will stay white a long time. Why are you transferring so much? I use hair size transfers, smaller than a grain of rice
You literally only need a small strand.

Interesting. And okay, duly noted.

I've been trying to be diligent with agar and I can't seen to get it down. I've tried homemade and vendor MS syringes, tissue cultures, spore prints. I've either been getting trich, bacteria, or some kind of white growth that is tomentose and/or weak in color. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Trying to follow sterile tek from TC's as close as possible.

D3monic's punch transfer TEK FTW.

I feel like I keep pushing this today, but it makes a nice clean circle. I don't know if the right one is TRich, but it looks like a suspect either way.

D3monic's punch agar thingy

Are you pouring yourself or buying premade plates? If the latter try a different vendor. And like I said before, take tiny samples, it helps.
