Psychedelics for treating or preventing dementia?

Is that a thing? Should be.
I've heard that keeping your mind busy can stave off dementia somewhat...crosswords and other puzzles, video games, just keeping busy in life.
Nothing keeps a brain busy like psychedelics, even / especially in lower doses.
I don't have dementia (yet) but was wondering about this.
Psilocin is an indole compound. I found a FedMed article (use TOR) on promising indole compounds for dementia treatment: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31545596/
Though I bet that FedDope doesn't really invigorate the brain like granny chewing a half-gram dry when she's still lucid in the morning.
Thank you.

LSD shows promise in preventing/ staving off Alzheimer's, so I don't see how it wouldn't also work with treating /preventing dementia
Psychedelics can also exercise neural networks and promote neurogenesis
I would say, that yes, they can. Paul Stamets suggests psilocybin and lion's mane for brain health

The problem with psychedelic community is, that a vast majority of psychedelics users also smoke cannabis... constantly! This makes it impossible to judge how psychedelics influence them as cannabis has such an overwhelming effect on the mind, and it is more of a dementia-inducing effect rather than preventative.

Yep, once I took my first long break off cannabis for over a year after a decade of smoking I realized this. It's very benign for a substance, but it still isn't optimal in terms of brain health compared to other substances.
Also lions mane, a 7 compound mushroom supplement, and psillocybin microdoses have done more, faster, and better for my at once was suicidal depression with crippling anxiety that caused me to have trouble even leaving the front door of my house. Whereas the one time i tried an SNRI/etc. it wrecked my brain more then doing years of MDMA ever did... took almost a year to feel normal again.
But yeah anyway, theres a lot of positive research that shows mushroom supplements, mostly lions mane + psilocbyin mushrooms as being massively benefical for not only mental health but potentially nerve health regeneration. The lions mane I believe helps the myelin sheaths or something like the beta glucans it have help it... and then the psilocybin mushrooms make the brain go and do things it generally doesn't do to innervate new pathways and they work synergistically.

god yes.
Reefer sticks are not my bag. I will go to sleep if I want to feel like that. Though I respect its medical aspect, and also whatever people want to do and all that.
But I've always thought it counterproductive.

After many years of tripping my mind is more sharp and youthful. Learning is much easier now as opposed to most other people whose ability to learn new things diminishes as they age and become set in their ways. My cannabis consumption is exceedingly rare for what that is worth, but it needs to be acknowledged that I've met some very wealthy, intelligent, and successful people who were regular cannabis users.

Cannabis does not induce dimentia. That is ridiculous. If it were true, that would be huge news.

When I first started using acid, I started riding this wave of increased cognitive capability. In the meantime I did a few moderate San Pedro trips. I could see how having positive experiences allowed me to bring something positive to my life. In terms of being more sharp, I have observed how it became easier for me to operate a foreign language in different ways than before. Also I have moved on in my "career" and started earning more money as a result. In the meantime I stopped tripping and drinking completely. I feel that I might need some micro doses to boost me up in future.
