Unidentified Mushrooms in my yard
    #27133342 - 01/07/21 04:13 PM (3 years, 21 days ago)

I just bought a house in El Dorado county California, and the yard is filled with mushrooms. These ones are brown basidiomycetes growing from the base of an oak tree. They are in close proximity to what appear to be golden oyster mushrooms. I have started a spore print but it has not had time to finish.

The orange ones look like toxic Omphalotus sp.

The brown ones with the partial veil look like Armillaria sp.

Try comparing to those genera and see what you find.

Omphalotus olivaceous
Armillaria looks like a good starting point, the spore print will be white, if Armillaria.

Armillaria mellea and Omphalotus olivascens.

The Omphalotus glows in the dark and the Armillaria might a little bit too, the mycelium at least.
